what is a real american? are some americans less ameican based on their geographic location? that is the notion going around

Corny, I know, but there is no such thing as a real American. You're either a citizen (and therefore an American), or youre not. There is no proper description outside of that imo. When we say the US is the melting pot, we are.

Those posing as "real Americans" are simply using an image to market something. Whether its Hulk Hogan promoting his image, or country music selling records about how america kicks ass, those are the false ideals that perpetuate the negative stereotype of America,

The man was refering to citizens who are not representing a special interest group, like a pharmaceutical company or an insurance company. Or those representing (paid by) a particular party, like republican or democrat.

That guy says that everyone who is a citizen of the United States is a real American, I don't totally agree with that, a Real American to me is someone who contributes to the the social interwebbing of the United States to help preserve life and community within that country. You could argue what a fake American is, like, I don't know, maybe an illegal immigrant.

I think working class Americans are commonly referred to as "real Americans", why, I haven't a clue. Any citizen of the United States is an American, a real American. What it means (or should) to be an American, among many other things, is recognizing that. Too many Americans promote our differences and want to classify each other or themselves, and create stigma/stereotype. That said...
