I have viewed the peoples opinions, and a lot of it does not make sense. Some are just downright unintelligent with allowing the kids to be allowed to stay because they were eating off the country for over a decade. Here how it should be in my opinion, and if you have a better solution please place your opinion. 1.If your parents come to this country, and they live here without legal residence for years, they are stealing from the country. People say that because thye have stayed for awhile they should be given citizen ship. How does that solution solve the problem? 2.People state that the kids that got here illegally and have been living here, whether they were snuck in by the parents or other means, that they should be allowed to stay. I saw on a news station once a video documentary of kids protesting that they should be citizens because they have been "good" in society, even though they have been illegally grabbing resources. A lot of people agree with them thought, this makes no sense to me, I believe that they should be more than able to go through the system legally after being in the country so long. 3.I do not agree with Rick Perry's theory of action against those who are seen crossing the border. I do believe that something should be done. Just not shooting on site.

Provide jobs for North America and not China. Feed Pablo and Pablo won't need a reason to cross the border.

What do you mean? Slave labour was why America became an economic powerhouse..

Quite frankly, I'm not sure. How do other countries deal with immigration issues?

Hitler did a pretty good job.

Well, He did let a lot of Jews leave. Unfortunately, no country would accept them except for the lucky ones such as Albert Einstein. The rest had tor eturn and were doomed to the death camps.

Put an Ellis Island on the southern border.

Isn't there an equivalent in all US embassies and consulates?

Immigrants will still be subjected to Yea or Nay. Ellis Island had the luxury of immigrant numbers being limited to those brought in by ships. There's no such limitation down south. An Ellis Island equivalent would be swamped with applicants. When the backlog increases, the illegals will be back crossing the desert once more.

That number wasn't very limited considering that over 1/3 of the U.S. population can trace its ancestry through Ellis Island. It'll take a few button pushers. Whoop dee fvcking doo.

If Republicans want to remove welfare and establish a free market why are they so opposed to cheap labour that undermines the welfare system? You'd think they'd be actively trying to bring in MORE illegals.

They've long held a policy position of allowing that cheap labor to be exploited. That's a big reason why there's been so much resistance to an e-verify type of system, and why punishment largely has largely been exerted on the individual immigrants and not those who employ them. That labor needs to remain illegal, however, to remain cheap (or at least as cheap as it currently is). Legislatively legalizing them breaks that.

One interesting thing to note about the current bill is that eventual citizenship requires years of consistent employment without any significant gaps. That's fine in theory, but I'm hoping it won't be used as a method of coercion.

So you think that illegals should get amnesty a second time when it didn't work the first time to stem the tide of illegals? There are almost 4 times as many illegals in the country this time than there were the first time. How many do you think will stream across the borders if those here now are granted amensty?

this. everyone likes cheap labor and illegals provide it, they don't ruin the system but help it over all.

I think it has more to do with a hatred towards difference as to why people want immigration reform

To answer your first question, I do not consider that a solution which will be a benefit for the United States overall because it will set a bad precident. That being anyone can come here illegally and become a citizen, so there would be little reason to gain citizenship legally. To answer your second question, many more illegal immigrants would come to the United States if the ones already here gain amnesty which is something many do not support, so like I said already, that scenario is not unanimously supported.
