is it just me? why does all the athiest stuff on the internet seem to be athiesm vs christianity. i never see athiesm vs buddhism or athiesim vs islam or atheism vs hinduism. why?
This is because the majority of users here are Christian, or Catholic. That would mean most of the atheists come from these backgrounds aswell, and fighting the religion they are.... if this made any sence :(

Exactly most of them, only know a little bit about christianity, so thats what they like to target. However there are atheists who have knowledge, about OTHER religions too but its mostly christianity
An Atheist is a person who doesn't belive in a god. (Personaly as a christian they dont like us that much.) But they fight with us the most because we are a majority yes.
atheism vs anything debates are usually fruitless, but it's usually against christians because christians have the biggest, or at least loudest presence.
eastern religions are not only less common, but more agreeable. christianity and islam are the major contenders in modern day religious...war? lets just call it conflict.
since christians are most common in english speking nations, and this is an english speaking forum its basically only chrisitians in religious debates.
also for some reason i think the internet has a larger population of atheists than the world does. the world is like 18 (athei and agno) but the internet it seems more like 30%

Agnostic can hardly be a group there...an agnostic is simply someone who believes that ____ cannot be humanely proved nor disproved. They can be Christian, atheistic, Muslim, pantheistic, etc.

An Atheist is someone who believes there is no god. It doesn't mean you are 'anti-Christian', but the ones that go on forums and have debates usually are.
Most atheists will use Christianity as a "target" so to speak, but really, we can apply the same arguments to any religion that worships one or more deities.

"Catholic" is not a religion. It is a sect of Christianity, another sect being Protestant. Most Americans are Protestant, and I think you are confusing that with Christians in general.
in the most literal meaning, it's one who doesn't believe in a God. you don't hear about the other ones being bashed because of one of a few reasons, either:
A: it's already being bashed a significant amount (Islam)
B: it's relatively peaceful (Buddhism, and Hinduism for the most part)
Christianity is the biggest conversion-oreiented religion, making Christians more likely to strike a religious argument/debate/conversion attempt with an atheist (or vice versa, atheist striking a debate with a Christian) than with a different religion.
Also Christianity is the religion with the most people.

It's simple, (A) THEIST is person that believes there isA divine being while an ATHIEST does not believe in a devine being. ATHEIST is the OPPOSITE of THEIST.

Atheism is the disbelief in the existence of God. Atheism does not deny the existence of God, but it is rather the disbelief in the existence of God. I like how you worded your post to try to piss us off.
Most of the "atheists" here are kids living with their parents who want to be rebels. And many of the true atheists have a very shallow understanding of Christianity. Unfortunately most of the Christians here don't understand their own religion very well either, so there are a lot of mean-spirited and idiotic arguments everyday.
