People are always saying for some series, oh they have to make another because they only made two. NO THEY DON'T. Or also sometimes a fourth movie is made and everyone's like, well now they have to make two more!!! NO THEY DON'T.

Maybe cos it's an easy way of making a guaranteed cash cow as opposed to going out on a limb with a fresh idea.D3nnyCrane
Nice.
Harry Potter came in 7 parts. Seven is a magic number.
And really, those things where it's in a volume of six is just two clumps of three.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I have nothing against sequels, or trilogies. I just think you should use the appropriate amount of movies to tell the story and then be done. Anything further would be masterbation But sometimes masterbation can be fun and/or provacative (Matrix sequels).

Lord of the Rings
Star Wars
Matrix
Indiana Jones
Back to the Future
Just to name the obvious ones.
Um. Yeah... The existence of some trilogies doesn't mean the world is obsessed with trilogies. That logic fails.[QUOTE="cu_be_cie"]

Mind = blown.so that there is a beginning, middle and end. Not just beginning, end

But not all stories need to progress in that traditional linear fashion.

Um. Yeah... The existence of some trilogies doesn't mean the world is obsessed with trilogies. That logic fails.Well when I say "everyone's obsession" that's obviously hyperbole but I have heard many people say things to effect I said in my OP so that's where I got the term obsession from.

The point is, there are quite a few to where you significantly notice them.
