Does Hell last for all eternity? What is it like?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
This is a short overview of it: CARM - Hell.
It was originally created for the devil and his demons (fallen angels), but man chose to fall in the Garden of Eden, and this made him unrighteous in the eyes of God. This is why the ultimate question is: am I righteous? It is a horrible place of eternal torment (as the link above addressed).
God bless,
Crushmaster.
I'm so totally righteous. Also it sounds like a pretty happening spot. All my favourite musicians are there.Crushmaster

Whatever you imagine the fury of the wrath of an infinite God to be like, likely worse.
However, through simple faith in the power and work of Jesus Christ rather than faith in our own goodness we can instead know the infinite mercies of God.mindstorm

God doesn't seem infinitely merciful, if God sends people to hell and also has infinite wrath...

and the fact the concept of Hell was a mistranslated part of text :P Funny what time can do to myths....allows them to gain hold and become 'truth'

That God would save any of us is one of my greatest theological questions. We all by our own will have waged war against God. However, for some of us who trust in him we who are traiters to our king can be called children of God. For those who are adopted as his own, it is for them that he establishes his loving kindness.[QUOTE="RationalAtheist"]

So then the God of the Old Testament is not judgmental toward the wicked? Why can't people just make up their minds? :P[QUOTE="RationalAtheist"][QUOTE="mindstorm"]Whatever you imagine the fury of the wrath of an infinite God to be like, likely worse. Rather than explain your previous paradoxical statement where you took liberties with infinity, you sidestep your paradox by creating a fan-club. This makes your God even more wrathful and insecure, since your God demands to be worshipped under penalty of "infinite wrath"!

But in your view, the vast majority of the 108 billion people who have ever existed are going to burn in hell for all eternity. The overwhelming majority of which never had the chance to even hear about jesus and the bible.
THis does not seem mercyful.

So your religion revolves around the belief that all of humanity are scum and deserve eternity in hell.

One massive orgy that goes on forever.LonelynightAnd thaaaat's what you consider hell? I see no problem with this as long as everyone is hot (no pun intended).
i remember i seen a documentary about a guy who died for about 10-15minutes and was revived and when he was dead he "seen hell', or thats what he claims. i think he woke up in his hospital bed and demon humanoid people were sawing his face up and torturing him. on top of that it was really hot, or it was something like that....my mom actually died for almost 10minutes when she had a heart attack and didnt see anything(heaven nor hell) so maybe that guy was just lying :P

So your happy to worship a god that condems people to hell due to either the time they were born or because of geographical locations which missionaries had difficulty getting to?

The monsters are decently powerful, particularly in the last act. The loot sucks though. Inferno is where you gotta be.

The short version is that we are all going to hell.
Wasn't asking you.
At least he knows what he believes.
I just hate word wasters. Especially the weird ones.
His answer was misleading, the question wiould have been easily answered by a yes or no answer, posting hundreds of words of scripture is not an honest answer.

But it sure is revealing how brainwashed one is when their argument holds no argument at all, but is only the same old tired dogma repeated over and over and over again. It's like trying to debate with a billboard. All this scripture explains nothing. But it's still fun to watch.in reality. i don't think it's a eternity of torture i don't think any man is that evil. if it does exist in some way,id think of it as prison. serve your time for what ever sin you commited and off to heaven.
but why would a whicked man punish the wicked?
