i mean sure some will say real guys are missing and some will say boring storylines and pathetic matches, and major will say classic thing is missing, i think everything is in mess in current wrestling business, i mean not a single wrestler entertains me anymore, for the kind info of the wresting fans here let me tell ya all that i am a big fan of wrestling, infact when i was asked in my school that what you wanna be i said a wrestler, since in those days i believed its real eventhough my friends were telling me its fake, i did not believed one word at any given time, heck i even got a wrist twist in my left hand, which is ok by the way, all thanks to the wrestling which my and my brother used to do in our school days, i even got my spine injured upto as bad that i was not able to even stand properly for quite some time, infact quite a few days! i have seen a real wrestling event live once here in india and even got an almost close chance to meet some of the wrestlers like bret hart, kevin nash as they were near me and my family due to the fact that we had arrived in the stadium in the exact time as they entered the stadium through a bus which went near us and i got a little chance to view hart and nash sitting in their chairs fomr the back side, and last match in that event was yokozuna and hart which he won and he was standing and i was hearing his theme, the most impressive part was light getting off in the undertaker's entrance and his theme, i still remember that event. right now the things are messed in wrestling world in my opinion as there is no good storyline nor the matches nor anything that would stand out fantastic, i know about wwf/wwe and wcw, i think the later was the better of the two. especially after wikipedia faq on some of the wrestlers, i was shocked and ashamed to have cheered them, overall every decision that is made is wrong and there is too much porn thing now, so yeah no fun at all. i think there are major decisions require to make things better, for e.g. raw and smackdown should be accessible by both of the rosters making it common as before and also better as before. overall i think better gimmicks are needed now.

yeah sure they take some pain in fakeness as well, i ain't watching to see wrestlers getting hurt, nope their pain is not the enjoyment, rather good vs evil and better gimmicks is all i care for, undertaker in current situation is no where near the old one, but thats understandble as he is aging, but i think its hard to create legends from the current selection of wrestlers, new wrestlers to be precise such as cena, i do not think he is that good, he is good but not that to be a legend sort of character.

I think Cena will the first one to admit he's not a legend. But he's been my fav since day one. Tell you what, if you can think of something amazing for WWE to do then tell them. The show has been going for yrs and there's only so much one can do, before repeating oneself and running out of idea's. I like what i see in WWE, its enjoyable enough for me to watch, i dislike WCW. Dumbass people hitting each other with barbed wire and stick to see how fast you can bleed. Pls man that's so easy and animilistic. If i want to see that type of thing but which is real then i'd watch cage fighting or some street fight WWE is a soap opera with action in it and that's just dandy with me

What is missing from wrestling? Build, continuity, order and logic. Without any of these elements, your average wrestling fan has little to no legit reason to care beyond loyalty and obligation.

It's picking up a little bit on the lead-up to 'Mania, but there any still many things still lacking. Smackdown bores the hell out of me, and most of the matches, are too short and boring. I'd like to see matches like the old RVD vs Jerry Lynn matches from ECW (watch the 'One of a Kind' DVD), like Kurt Angle vs, well, anyone really. There's very few people today who can put on the matches The Rock, Angle, Jericho, Stone Cold, and Bret Hart used to put on. HHH, HBK, and The Undertaker still put on good to great matches, and guys like Edge and Orton (two of the business' best heels IMO), Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, MNM (in particular Johnny Nitro), The Hardy's (in particular Jeff), and CM Punk are capable of putting together excellent programmes, and have done so in the past. So why aren't they doing it. Edge, Carlito, Benjamin, Nitro, Jeff Hardy, and Punk should be put in the Money in the Bank match. It would be match of the night, especially if given time to perform (something the WWE isn't all that capable of lately). They should look back to the Attitude era, and the old ECW era, to see what worked. That's when Wrestling was red hot. Maybe all they need is some (real) competition (TNA isn't quite there yet - we don't get much of it in Oz, only tape-delay PPV's), and searching the Independant's for some new talent (and watching the matches that they are in to see what they do well)

And one more thing, the 'new' 'ECW' (it's hasn't got a patch on the original, just watch the ONS PPV's, especially 2005). It's taken this long to get any sort of program going (with the New vs Old storyline, although they did have the 'Heyman is God' angle for a while). On appearance, and from some reports, Vince is intent on destroying the legacy of ECW, and the talent that built the original, and rebuilding it in his own 'Sports Entertainment' vision. There is no real 'wrestling' show anymore, because it's all 'Sports Entertainment'. I like the talking and promos ie. Edge/Orton, DX, the heel Cena, The Rock, Jericho, Christian, Angle, and Carltio (sometimes), but to an extent, these spots have taken the place of a good, long match (not the 5 minute garbage they use now). Also, they spent so much building up CM Punk, but come December to Dismember, they started to bury him. First one eliminated in the Chamber, then losing to chumps like Hardcore Holly and Matt Striker. The ticket to 'Mania and MitB should be great, but maybe they should put him on Raw, because unless they're going to put him in the title picture, he is wasted in 'ECW'. Put him in matches with HBK, Flair, Hardy, Nitro, Edge, or Carlito, and we'd see some fantastic matches, especially if given 20+ minutes to perform.

I know this post really didn't have much structure, but it's just a bit of a rant I'm on after watching my DVD's (like the Undertaker's, RVD's, and the ECW one's), and noticing there's something missing from those good old days.

Note: I haven't seen much TNA, but I try to keep up with the goings on the 'Net, and it does seem interesting (plus what I saw back a few years ago was really good). But they need to grow to become close to a threat to Vince. I wish more of it was on Australian TV so I could actually watch it.

well link, racer and steve i agree with you all pals, you have the right logic here. lets just say that in short, there is not enough good matches, the tag team is just a pure trash type for me, cause its the same thing over and over, one gets hurt he tags the fresh one in and when he gets hurt, the old one comes in and then both of the opposite side wrestlers come in to get some pain, precisely running like crazy straight to the opponent, with no effort to make it seem like he is really running to attack his opponent and not to get hurt while his hands are up in air! i do not think there is decent creativity left know, its just about doing right kind of matches as well as gimmicks! some of the talents are ruined all thanks fo this in-decent planning/booking thing from the organization! they need to put some real effort in order to bring the classic entertainment!

The problem is that people can't accept the fact that the big name's back then aren't around now. I've watched wrestling from when it was in its prime in the 90's and still watch it to this day and I think that people are just upset that guys like Austin and The Rock aren't around anymore. I think that people don't like guys like John Cena and Batista in the main event and feel like then can't compare to Austin, Rock or the nWo. People don't understand that a lot of these guys are still around...Undertaker is main eventing WrestleMania this year against Batista for the title, Sting is a main eventer in TNA, Hogan usually comes back to WWE once a year for a major storyline, Nash doesn't wrestle but does very funny backstage segments in TNA and Austin is the special referee in a high profile match at WrestleMania. I also feel like when WCW and ECW went out of business WWE got lazy with their storylines, but now with TNA getting very good, I'm optimistic the competition will make WWE improve their TV quality (which they have done since the Royal Rumble).

exor pal, i too have been watching it from 92 or 93 onwards, and i agree with you, but age crisis will always be a major factor for any wrestler, i mean sooner or later the unertaker would be retiring, so its about bringing/creating new legends/icons from the available roster or from newer talents should be checked out.

lets check the facts, there were around 29 thousand fans when undertaker vs undertaker match was held, now the average fans are harldy around 20 thousand even at ppv events, now thats a fact worth noticing.

i am from India but most of you must be from us and other western countries and must be aware of the decreasing entertainment in wrestling. i personally think mcmahon and family is as good as freaks.

overall i think majority of us will agree with the fact that competition could make wrestling decent, otherwise its the same stuff over and over again.
