What is money? (please don't answer this question)

Is there ever truly a shortage of people who are willing to work and create for the greater good? Are we all truly incapable of feeding the mouths of starving children, without money? Why does this economic creation dictate our lives to the point of despair? Was the Great Depression necessary? As far as I'm aware, there never really was a shortage of resources, at least food. It more so had to do with this "creation", and those who adhere to it even if it means the end for many innocent people. Why are there starving children all over the world? Simple. There doesn't seem to be much of a monetary award for helping them. Our whole economic system is fueled on the basis of explicit greed, and indifference to those who have failed to succeed within this system. Maybe this is why everything falls apart.

Money is nothing but a symbol of value used to make financial transactions easier. Ridding the world of money wouldn't help feed the world because we would still exist in a world of finite resources. mattbbpl
