Poll What is the BEST 'Harry Potter' novel? (20 votes)

The Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone 10%
The Chamber of Secrets 10%
The Prisoner of Azkaban 20%
The Goblet of Fire 15%
The Order of the Pheonix 0%
The Half-Blood Prince 25%
The Deathly Hallows 20%

Alright, you get the idea guys.

What do you personally think is the best Harry Potter NOVEL?

My favorite is The Half-Blood Prince. I love the story there, and the pacing is just perfect.

NOTE: I will be making another poll in a few days asking what your favorite Harry Potter movie is, so if you have a favorite HP movie, please wait until that poll to voice said opinion.

The first. It had a much more fantastical spirit than the later four books. The second was great too.

Azkaban by far. Everything after Goblet sucks.

imo, the third book

I really liked the was black was developed.

5th and 7th would be 2nd and 3rd. I really liked the way they developed Snape in number 7 and number 5 took the series into a much darker tone.

Probably 3rd or 4th book

I would say 5th is the weakest. I don't think I was a big fan of Half Blood Prince at first, but Snape's character/story is probably the best in the series

The first one, as it set up the world and its characters. But the second and third books are also very good, the drop in quality after the 3rd is rather noticeable

The Goblet of Fire is my favorite . I loved the way their school changed that year because people from other schools came . and the return of Lord Voldemort was Epic .

and it was the first harry potter book that I got . and the movie came out a few months after I got this book ! so its one of my favorite books from my teenage era :D

it's been a while since i've read them so i don't remember much beyond the very broad strokes. with that said, i liked the deathly hollows most.

the whole series is a school years fantasy so there was always a rigid school year structure and a lot of mentors. i liked that rowling chose not to end it with some sort of graduation ceremony but with harry out in the "real" world with no real mentor figures. for a series set almost exclusively in a school, i thought it was an interesting choice to say that the school wasn't the end goal. also, voldemort and big flaming spells.

The Prisoner of Azkaban. I really liked the way Sirius Black was introduced as well as his ties with Harry's past. The Philosopher's Stone is a close second simply because it was the novel that started it all and initiated me into the wonderful world Rowling created.

1. Prisoner of Azkaban

2. Chamber of Secrets

3. Goblet of Fire

4. Half Blood Prince

5. Sorcerer's Stone

6. Deathly Hallows

7. Order of the Phoenix

For me, Prisoner of Azkaban is not only the best book but also the best movie as well. The novel was much darker then the first two and I felt it set the tone for the rest of the series. Werewolves, Dementors & Sirius Black this book had everything. Chamber of Secrets comes in second since it's the first HP book I read way back in 5th grade, the movie is awesome too lol.

Deathly Hallows. The book wonderfully wrapped up the epic story.

In terms of stand-alone movies, I think Prisoner of Azkaban might be my fav.

Can't choose. It'd probably be between 5-6-7 but every time I re-read them, I find something I love more.

Is this even a question? It's obviously the Half-Blood Prince. And anyone claiming it's Order of the Phoenix ought to be shot.
