Yeah, this is the one YouTube video I found that starts off with the song I was looking for, so...this is the meaning of life...I guess.
Heaven > Life, in many aspects.Zephgaldarien
Now, how could you make such a comparison, when you only have experience with one of them?
You don't even know for sure that heaven is real. How you can compare something you know is real, versus something you only wish to be real, is beyond me.

Saying Heaven > Life does not require it to be real in a sense. Yes, any place where I am not sad anymore and where I will live forever with streets of gold is good enough for me. Oh and bisquits with jelly mmmm.Jesus, hasn't anyone read the Hitchhiker's Guide? The meaning of life is 42.famicommander
It's too cliche and obvious at this point.

It still needs to be mentioned. This wouldn't be the internet if it weren't.[QUOTE="SpaceMoose"][QUOTE="famicommander"]Jesus, hasn't anyone read the Hitchhiker's Guide? The meaning of life is 42.famicommander

I'll say happiness... Although it seems like it gets harder to find the older you get. Life seems like such a scam, we're born as little bundles of joy with endless amounts of energy, then we die off as bitter old men. I don't want that fate, but it seems like it's going to be unavoidable.
Oh well, I hope a double-decker bus knocks me out before then. And yes, please play the worlds smallest violin for me.

Oh and bisquits with jelly mmmm.Uh, yeah it does require it to be real. You made an absolute statement on absolutely no valid grounds. How do you know you won't be sad anymore? What if your best friends and beloved family members are not there with you? You'll be happy?
God is the meaning of life.....jasonheyman
Then what is the meaning of God's existence? Super-God? :D

If Heaven is real, yes I won't be said anymore and everyone who made it to Heaven will be there with me and I will be happy. Because if Heaven is real, then the Bible is true because God never lies. It's like if you were going to eat a nice cheeseburger, you bite into it with faith that it is going to taste good. How do you know it's going to taste good? What if it tastes like poop? Valid grounds aren't really valid to tell you the truth. Everything takes some amount of faith. If Heaven is real, yes I won't be said anymore and everyone who made it to Heaven will be there with me and I will be happy. Everything takes some amount of faith? I don't need faith to know that if I eat beans I'm going to fart.
And where's your faith? You said "if heaven is real" twice in this post. So basically, you're admitting you don't know for sure.
You even said, "if heaven is real" in a hopeful sense, but immediately followed it with "because god never lies", an absolute statement. But if you're sure god never lies, and one of the things he promised is heaven, then why are you not completely sure heaven exists? I guess you're also not sure that god is telling the truth as well...hmm...

You just admitted you need faith by saying you don't need faith to know that if you eat beans you are going to fart. How can you question someones faith by the context of their words? I simply say if to get a point across to you. It's like a hypothesis statment if and then. Like if you eat beans, then you will fart, according to you offcoarse because I don't fart when I eat beans. So if Heaven is real then God never lies, because if God lied it would disprove the whole Bible.

Dude, eating fibrous foods leads to gas. It's a fact. I don't need faith for that. It's proven itself time and time again.
And the rest of your post just highlights how little faith you actually have. Now, if you don't think any of this is real, why waste any time on it to begin with? Why make a fantasy such an integral part of your life, and who you are? Don't you have anything real, something of substance, in your life that you could draw inspiration from? Why do you putter around with non-sensical fairy tales as your fuel for living?
Depends on what level you mean. On a base level to reproduce, while on a higher, more abstract level, to become wiser, find something you take joy and pride in doing and perfecting it and finding love.
Ah I feel so cliche now :(

You contradict yourself by saying I have little faith and then saying "non-sensical fairy tales" are my fuel for living. I have so much faith, that I live on it. I am convinced there is a God and that there is a Heaven. Christians live by faith.I don't come on here to talk about faith, but some of these threads?? My oh my!
There are two facts we can start with! We all are born, and we all will die someday! There is no escaping that! Now what we do from the time we are born (well from the age we know right from wrong) is our choice! God doesn't have to "prove" Himself to no one! He has given plenty of FACTS He is REAL! If you make the choice to ignore it or twist it than thats your choice!
And besides I don't know how you can say there isn't a God! Look at the wonders of nature itself! That alone should tell you something! And how complicated a simple cell can be! I mean come on. Someone greater than us is at work period!

Or maybe you twisted something natural to fit your ideas of a fantasy god?

That's no evidence of god. That's just something we don't know yet. Saying that "god did it", is quite simply what we call "jumping to conclusions". It's what happens when people think they have the answer to something, without having any facts to back up the assumption. You just made this mistake. ;)

Lol! Well put it how you want. I have talked to so many people about religion! You can't make someone believe anything that you do! That's what I learned! The only thing I can do is give witness to the Truth. You are intitled to your opinion! But I can promise you! For a FACT! There is ONE GOD! He has created everything in and out of this world! There is GOOD and EVIL at war everyday between the two!! FACT!
Don't take my caps as I'm mad cause Im not just pointing out those points;)

So two thirds of the world's population are wrong?
What makes your version of the truth any truer than any other religion's version?
Why do the truths and facts contradict with scientific thinking?

Ah well it's not only "my version of the truth"! What makes you think everyone else is wrong? We both have free wills? Yes? Yes! And we make the choice what to do with it!
Just because someone doesn't think their is a God doesn't mean someone who know's better is supposed to sit back and let it go without giving witness! What you do with it is up to you! I'm not making you believe anything!;) I respect your opinion that doesn't mean I have to agree or believe it!

I know you're not mad. I can tell. You come across as eerily giddy, actually. Have you been sniffing something? :P
