Ether?
Ironically, I was reading a book on Buddhism earlier tonight, and The Buddha was once posed this exact question... and just wrote it off as something that is unanswerable, so there was no need to worry about it.
I think he's talking about the Aristotle elements of fire, earth, air, and water. The 5th element being Aether which was supposed to make up the heavenly bodies such as stars. What four elements? Regardless, I'm sure it is a very un-scientific notion you are seeking.

Aether? I think that's the combination of Sol and Luna. Not sure....Ether?

Aether? I think that's the combination of Sol and Luna. Not sure.... I don't think Aether was supposed to be a combination of anything. It was a 5th element that doesn't exist on earth.[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]

I love the amount of attempted smartassery ("Uhhh there's more than four elements, dumbie") ending in just plain jackassery in this thread...
