To stress the importance, devastation or anger in which a person's point is delivered, I guess. 'English mother****er, do you speak it?" wouldn't be as good as it is without the eff word in it...super_mario_128Well, that goes against what most of us are taught as children, which is you can get angry and frustrated without using swear words. But I can relate sometimes.

Key word there... I wouldn't even go as far as to say most. A lot of parents don't care if their kids swear, I know mine didn't. More importantly, characters in certain films and TV shows aren't brought up in the same way you are. I think for example a Gangster who kills people on screen isn't going to swear. If he has been brought up by an equally violent family he is going to have violent language as that is the language he would have heard at home.

A lot of things we are taught as children are useless once you reach a certain age.

I know, what does it matter anyway? I hate that double standard that parents set:
You mustn't swear, but they can do it all they like, despite it only being a word. I agree that excessive swearing is pointless, but as I said, it helps emphasise a point...
To make it slightly more realistic.
If you had a day like Jack Bauer i'm fairly certain every second word that came out of your mouth would be F***.

English motherfrigger, do you speak it?
Now doesn't that sound intimidating?
