I am currently enrolled in college and I was just wondering, what is the salary difference from having a masters to not having one.

I feel like I can do much moe if I dropped out out of college.Everyone says "go to college it will help you a lot" but I think

it's overrated now.

What do yal think?

On the books, a couple thousand I believe. Off the books, it really depends on what you went to college for, what you're doing, what you've done, etc, etc.

you dont have to go to college to get a good job if you have a plan. but for the average person not going to school would hurt them

It's totally dependent on the individual. Post-secondary training makes it easier to be successful financially if you pursue a field which is in demand, but it is certainly not necessary as many wealthy individuals have proved.

There is only a difference if your degree gets you anywhere...a lot of my friends that have graduated dont have anything better than minimum wage jobs. :/

Hmm. We read several papers about this kind of thing in school last year, with the average salary of people that didn't go to college, and those that went to college and got certain degrees and stuff. I don't remember any numbers though.

An interesting point though was that in one paper, the writer was saying that if you took the cost of tuition for some college (he gave numbers for the cost but I don't remember what they were) over four years or however many, and invested it over 60 years or something, you would end up with more money than if you had spent the money to get into the school and gotten a better job. Something like that.

Really? In Britain an average graduate salary would probably be between £30-40,000.

It's that if you count out the doctors, lawyers and bankers. It's certainly that if you want to work in a science.

nah, manhore30 is exaggerating (although it does depend on the job). if you got to college you will make about $60k-100k a year. since british money is about double id say we make about the same.

College graduates make approximately 80% more than high school graduates.
