I wouldn't use such extremes because this is the 21st century, and people aren't that stupid, but yes, conforming isn't exactly the best for society.

Conforming is a big deal, it prevents potentially good ideas from getting to the top. It creates a culture that goes absolutely nowhere and people who can't think for themselves. And following the crowd is what the Germans did in the 1930's, and the Romans in the 1st century. Oh, did I mention Salem Witch Hunts? Yep, conformism doing its job.

Stalicon

I should've been clearer. I ment teens following whatever's 'in' wasn't a big deal, not just conformism in general.

It could be, because those teens are usually complete morons. I don't know what causes the other, but I know they're related.

Yes, because the majority of these teens are mindless idiot drones who despise reading and would rather worry about their "cars" and "clothes" than actual issues plaguing our society.

I'm pretty damn sure you shouldn't judge them.

Conforming has always been around, if you go against whats popular just because it is popular to be a non conformist then you are just conforming to non conformity.

No offense, but you people are out of your minds.

Society is terrible? Society does nothing good?

Um...have you ever stopped to wonder why we have societies AT ALL?

Have you ever stopped to wonder why ants live in hives, or why wolves live in packs?

Do you have any idea how difficult it is for ONE PERSON to become an expert in engineering, medicine, farming, and water management?

Are you aware of WHY companies hire certain people for certain positions, rather than making EVERY employee responsible for ALL aspects of the operation?

Also, most of us are basement dwellers. We don't have friends and lovers to take our mind of the crap of society. Unlike you social people who are too busy enjoying life, we criticize the way people do it...wemhim

It ssssspeaksss the truthsss! *swipes out at nearest living thing*
