This is to variable. Like if it's video game violence where someone gets shot, they die and there's hardly any blood that's fine. But if it's throat cutting blood squirting violence. That's not okay. The same goes with nudity. If it's just a pair of tits no real issue. If it's a sex scene then no. But then again it all depends on the age. Like if they are 13 I don't care about violence or sex. They already know about sex and the violence isn't really and issue.
Speaking for myself, I would much rather be sensitive to violence and comfortable with the human form. Unfortunately, it's the other way around due to my stereotypical American upbringing.
You know, when you're a kid and they show those 1980's and 1990's action movies on TV, they pretty much leave all the violence in but, god forbid, there's a couple exposed female chests in there...no no no, they have to take those out.

Yeah that thread's premise was kind of ridiculous haha.
I say violent but not so much like typical cartoon violence. Much of it have to do with how it depicted so depend on who direct. I would say children witness volatile behavior from adult would be number one bad thing. It numb kids from a young age that it ok to hurt other. When you watch a action movie there is disconnect, but when it very close to you it has a more profound effect on the brain.
I would say violence is worse normally. Self defense violence not so bad but the GTA style kill anyone violence is pretty bad. Sex is the same. Concentual sex and nudity is fine but any rape of violent sex would not be good for kiddos. Also the GTA have sex wih hooker then kill her to get your money back thing is pretty bad lol. Soooo GTA is pretty bad for kids even though I love it.
Both but if I had to choose its nude scenes. I dunno how much of an impact it will make if kids watch violent scenes but them getting inspired by racy things is a no no. Teen pregnancy is a pretty big problem.
I watch tom & jerry and I grew up fine. Kids nowadays watch popstars and celebs, that didnt go so well.
@Boddicker: Yeah! Japan is both a wonderful and messed up place at the same time.
No shit. They're headed for economic collapse because they're hardly having any kids to support the elderly.
Some of the most F'ed up porn imaginable coming from Japan I'm sure has nothing to do with it...…….
I'd say violence. If you're very impressionable, violence will make you a killer. All sex will do is make you horny.
Obviously violence.
On a side note, Its almost moronic how violence is celebrated and sex is vilified in this country. Most violent games start off being rated at "Teen", but throw in a pair of tits and BAM, it's "Mature". This goes for movies too.

False.

I'm pretty sure that teens are going to f*** anyway since they're teens.
Having said that, I think this is sort of a weird debate in the first place, since it's not as if the standard R-rated movie (or M-rated video game) is illegal for kids to watch or play (at least in the USA). I'm assuming we're not talking about hardcore porno here, or movies so gory that they'd get slapped with the dreaded NC-17 rating. The standard position is, "parents can let their kids see it if they want, and sellers are free to deny it to children without a parent's consent."
I'm not saying there isn't a weird discrepancy, but I ultimately think it's sort of a moot point. If society says that kids aren't supposed to see a boob, then as a parent you can just buy/rent movies with boobs if you disagree.
Obviously violence.

I don't know, I always sort of got the feeling that a shitload of marketing is aimed towards appealing to peoples' interests in violence and sex. You don't have to show nudity or a gruesome murder in order to accomplish either.
Anyway, I don't think there's an "obvious" answer here since neither violence nor sex is inherently bad. Which is "worse" would "obviously" depend on how the violence or sex is actually handled and what ideas it communicates to young viewers. If we want to start talking about this stuff as plausibly having artistic or societal merit, then it's on a case-by-case basis.
It more dangerous to be expose to group who try and recruit a young mind or warp. It what happen in terror country section. Also and not as a judgement but it you ever have seen those American YouTube’s which on purpose mess with scammer, there is big mind warp in India. It like they know it wrong but do it anyway but dig the hole so deep they won’t admit.
Not all Indian people is like this just to add. It just it very well known.
