mine would have to be "a series of unfortunate events". great books. sucks that it's over tho. don't judge it by the movie either. the movie SUCKED and was nothing like the books.

second favorite - what else but harry potter?

EDIT - i'm currently reading a really great series called the ember series. i'm on the 3rd one (The Prophet of Yonwood). There's 4 in the series (Well, it'll be 4 in august). They are making a movie on the first one (The City of Ember) and it looks really good!

here's a link to the trailer:

I haven't seen it although it looks really good.

The books aren't bad. They're actually quite childish but they have this irresistible charm.

me too! (when i was younger) i used to love the goosebumps books that let you choose the plot. like the story would be scattered all over the book and when the would have to make a decision it would be like

"Go down the hallway? Page 84!"

"Or open the door?" Page 116!"

it made for a really short book, but i read it like over and over again and it would be different every time.

I read Wielding a Red Sword first... it was in my school library. After that I decided to buy the first, On A Pale Horse. I will never regret it. the way he incorporates religion, technology, magic, fantasy and modern day together is brilliant.

Harry Potter, of course. :D I grew up with them, how can I not pick that as my favorite? :D The Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin is also amazing.

You guys are talking about Goosebumps... does anyone remember Animorphs? Those were my FAVORITE as a kid! :P

:D I did too! In fact, I still have them all in my closet... I'm saving them for my kids because I honestly think they were that good. Once you get past the whole alien thing, the books are really very smartly written and deal with pretty mature themes.

I guess I would have to go with the Conan series by Robert E. Howard if I had to go with just one. After that there's...

A Wild Sheep Chase & Dance, Dance, Dance by Haruki Murakami

The Amber series by Roger Zelazny

Soldier of the Mist series by Gene Wolfe

Elric series by Michael Moorc@ck

The guy that played Iceman's name is Shawn Ashmore. He played Jake in the TV show, but I don't think he was ever on one of the book covers. Shawn Ashmore was my first celebrity crush. :P

Warning: The last 4 books are 500-800 pages each, so have patience :P

LoTR of course. You think I'm an amateur or something? In fact it's really the only fiction series I've read.
