what is your favorite board game in your opinion?

Well As you can see gamespot is about video games. Right? But how about board games. They are games too right? Well so I wanted to ask you guys. What is the best board game in your opinion? You can tell me what you like and why. And then you can vote using the poll. Thanks.

Risk and Scrabble are tied for first for me.

Monopoly comes a close second.

Monopoly is definitely my favorite. It's absolute proof that money is the root of all evil- 2-6 people fighting their heads off over fake money and assets for hours on end XD. Always a good time when someone draws a 'Go to Jail' card.

Out of that lot, scrabble. I like chess puzzles but I haven't got the concentration span for a full game.

Well in my opinion I think my favourite board game is Othello (Reversi). Takes a second to learn but a lifetime to master...

Monopoly. The thing that makes it so great are those "i only have purple slums" comebacks that can take hours upon hours of slow progress. You can turn it completely around on someone and bring their real estate empire crashing down on top of them.

No greater feeling in the world of board games than finally bankrupting that person who was oh so sure they had you living homeless under a bridge.

Probably the greatest game ever...period. Not just on boards.

I'm quite partial to a bit of Scrabble myself.

From those options, Monopoly I suppose. I remember once I got my cousin so angry after I swindled her on a debt-repayment-massive-interest scheme that she literally tossed the board across the room and stormed out of the house. Well, shouldn't default on your loans then, eh deadbeat?

It's so much more fun when you add "special rules."
