By the way, if those avs get decent goaltending this year, they could be a serious threat.
Yeah, I was hoping they would get Khabibulin from Chicago(my other favorite team), but Huet is just playing terrible. :(

I'm thinking they'll push along and near the deadline they'll get Biron or Niittymaaki(likely Nits), or maybe a Kari lehtonen/Nik Backstrom/Jaro halak/Tim Thomas/Olaf Kolzig/Manny fernandez. Budaj's decent, but he takes losses and bad goals way too hard, much the same with Raycroft.

2-1 shootout win tonight against the Sabres! Budaj has actually played decent the last few games, meh i say bring up a goalie with a future from the AHL. Only problem with getting Khabibulin is we probably wouldn't have enough cap space to sign Forsberg when he comes back.

OMG I HATE YOU! I watched the Hawks game live, and DVR'd the Avs game. It's in the second period right now. Thanks for ruining it meanie :(
Haha just kidding. I agree with you about the cap, but we really need a #1 goalie, and Budaj just doesn't seem like he should have that spot.

lol my bad, the shootout is worth watching though. Yah Budaj definately has had way to many chances, I think it's time to move on.

I don't want to get rid of him, but keep him as a backup. Remember two seasons ago? He played insanely good, and we still missed the playoffs by 1 point.

Yah is that when we had like a 15-1-1 finish to the season? I remember we had to win against Nashville and Forsberg killed us with 2 assists that game, lol.

The problem being the Avs don't have a goalie with a future in the AHL. Sauer's in college still AFAIK, and I'm skeptical he can be a starter. Cann is in the OHL I think, and while he was maybe one of the best goalies in his draft-year, it doesn't change the fact that he's only got backup potential. Delmas is Colorado's future hope, but he's in the Q and he'll need a lot of work to be a starter. :(
And Foppa won't be coming back, I'm pretty sure. His foot is destroyed.
Yeah if only Roy was still playing, i remember the good old days when the Avs, the broncos, the crush (arena football), the mammoths (lacrosse), and a couple Colorado collage hockey teams were winning championships left and right.I don't want to get rid of him, but keep him as a backup. Remember two seasons ago? He played insanely good, and we still missed the playoffs by 1 point.

Detroit won. :( Datsyuk and Hossa scored, while only Toews did for Chitown.

I long for the day the Wings miss the playoffs. :D Even if they're an immensely well-run team with a number of like-able players, I'd love to see Chicago, Columbus and St. Louis on top of them. Maybe even Nashville, but I doubt they will anytime soon.
Mainly because while I'm sure my Sharks could beat Detroit in the playoffs, it'd likely be in 7, and wins in 5 or 6 against other teams would be fantastic.

Jacobistheman
Ever since Stastny left, DU hasn't been the same, they were so dominate in college hockey, although they are not horrible now, just not like before. But i remember the Roy, Elway days, Colorado seems to be in a slump lately in sports. 5 game win streak for the Avs though!

Idk, that's what like everyone said(myself included) about Foppa last year, I still have faith. But I actually heard Sauer's pretty good and Delmas was a great pick for us. You're right though, niether is ready for NHL experience, lol idk i'm just totally frustrated with the goaltending situation, ever since we didn't re-sign Theo.

Sauer's good in the college ranks, but he'll have to prove himself in the AHL before I'm sold on him. He's not amazing technically, and he lacks top-end natural ability. I'll admit I haven't seen more than 9 games of his, so I won't begin to assume how good his mental game is, but he doesn't seem outstanding there either. He'll need to work really hard.
Delmas was a great pick(although I think choosing Harri Sateri would have been a wiser move) and he's definitely got a bright future, but it'll take a while.
I'm confused why Theo left Colorado for a few extra dollars, when the coach that revived his career is in Colorado. It baffles me, really.
Tennis. Fastest speeds (up to 155 mph) in the world, most precise game in the world (hit the line by less than 1 mm), and the hardest solo sport (think about it, team sports don't show individual talent; in tennis, it's you and your coach versus the world).
Just my thoughts, and playing it is a ton of fun once you get the serve to 80 mph and can hit a forehand anywhere you want on the court.

Yup, that night was horrible. I was over at my Uncle's house in Arizona, and the game wasn't on TV of course, so I was listening on the NHL Radio. I pretty much cried, especially since Edmonton had beaten Calgary, so all we needed was to win 1 game.......
