Well we know Gamespot forum has an average height well over 6ft when the average height is 5ft10.
So what is your IQ? The average is 100.
My IQ is 137.

I don't know. I've taken a few online tests and gotten something different each time. The lowest was 110, and the highest was 127.SolidSnake35
Online tests are not reliable. Real IQ tests need to be in a setting with real people watching you and asking you questions and so on.
It's debatable whether or not IQ tests are reliable at all, actually.
I don't know, I have never taken an IQ test before except for those bogus online ones which usually give me a score between 120 and 130.bean-with-bacon
They probably arent as bad as you think, the last real test I took was when I was 14 and if I had been 16 at the time my IQ would have been 120, most of the online ones give me something between 120 and 140 so they cant be that bad.
i've taken a few of them, including that one that CBC put together, and i average around 125 most of the time.
i don't think they're the most accurate measure of intelligence, someone who scored 120 likely isn't that much smarter than someone who scored 111, but they are a good judge of where you sit overall, and chances are someone who scored 120 has a higher level of comprehension than someone who scored 60.
i think i tend to score high on the vocab sections, and then get dragged down by the math portions.
Just tried FreeIQtest.com, did the test quick, but you have to sign up for stuff to get the results....
DO NOT go there.
One time it measured 128 and the other time 134, unfortunately it doesn't tell much. I have a friend who has an IQ above 145, he's socially not quite okay, his life is a mess. IQ doesn't say anything about emotional or social abilities which are very important in life.TheFlush
Unfortunately due to IQ score inflation (which has happened over the last decade) they're trying to make every kid score as gifted, which is meaning persons such as your friend no longer receive the kind of attention they need. It's hard to explain what operating on that level means to people - you don't necessarily do well in school, you don't necessarily improve socially - your mind operates on an entirely different plane. The standard deviation for a stanford-binet test is 15 points, but the difference between say, 130 and 145 can be profound in how people learn and think.
There's actually a communication breakdown because some highly intelligent persons learn, think, and function in ways that are radically different from the norm. That doesn't make myself or others in that group any "better" than people who score lower, there are certainly dozens of other measure of intelligent - emotional, social, et cetera - and I think good study habits and a strong work ethic benefit a person far more than a high IQ (I should know, I have one, it has resulted more in philosophical understanding and a frustration with many people's seeming inability to grasp certain complex topics such as economics, government policy, and philosophy properly - not because I think they're stupid, but because it's hard for me to understand not instantly seeing all sides of an issue).

Long post short, you're correct, IQ alone is NOT a measure of success, nor is it intended to be - it's a useful tool for flagging deviant minds. Chances are the kid scoring 160+ on a stanford-binet doesn't operate in the same way someone in the 100 ~ 125 range does, unfortunately "gifted" classes are more socially isolating, and many incredibly intelligent people are terrible in academic situations (some of the best physicists and mathematicians of all time were not stellar in their undergraduate work - it was only when given free reign to tackle problems that interested them that they did something special).
Mine is over 9000.cametallWait, so you're saying . . . I can't believe this . . . you're saying IT'S OVER NINE-THOUSA-A-A-A-A-A-AND???
The last time I did an unofficial online test was well over a year and a half ago and it was around 130-140. I've never had it officially checked and really don't have the desire to. Quantifying "intelligence" with a number is not something I can see being possible and don't understand how they did it in the first place. There are things that make up a person's general "intelligence" that don't exist on the standard IQ test... like how to deal with a violent criminal who is at your store trying to rob you, an intelligent person would keep calm and follow their every instruction while a moronic person would do something that might get them killed.foxhound_fox
Yes, ive always wondered how they can Quantify intelligence; is IQ based towards someone who has more knowledge and experience? or someone who has a high potential to learn but is just mentaly lazy and comes of as being 'dumb'? seems like a flawed system to me.
lol everyone knows of mensa right? the group that you need an IQ of over 137 or something to join, theres a society called the Giga society, that you need an IQ of 196 to join.-Phaz-
The entry level for mensa is varied depending on the type of IQ test that you take, If you check which one you did then you may be able to join if your IQ was 141.

An actual IQ test administered one-on-one with a psychologist is about testing your raw ability to learn & problem solve. It's not a measure of "learned" abilities - like social, emotional, or academic testing.
160, that was a couple of years ago, when i was 14. I dont believe in the online tests tho, because they questions they ask are pointless, and the results arnt accurate.
Even proper IQ tests dont take in all the abilities of humans, such as emotional intelligence, hand eye coordination and 3D puzzle solving
