There's a store across the street (looking at it now actually), for juice and beer and chips. For actual groceries, we go to Walmart. There's a local chain here that I'd rather shop at because I don't like feeding the evil Walmart machine, but they're groceries are almost always 8% higher than Walmart, even their "on-sale" items.
Kroger mostly, but I like to go to local shops like Butler and Bailey Market for meat. In my grad school's town, I came into this one market so often that they started giving me discounts on the ground sirloin. People wondered why my tacos and spaghetti were so good...
There are two small shops near me along with a hotel, but I shop at ASDA or Morissons.
Well, ASDA is the equivalent in the sense that it is owned by Walmart.
But Tesco is the equivalent in the sense that it is overwhelmingly dominating the marketplace and is shameless in its displays of anti-competitive behaviour.
