My "old man" moments usually come at work; I'm in a field populated with younger people because people get old quickly in my career and move on, but I've stayed (for whatever reason). Generally, it goes something like this:
Me: Do your job
Lazy Asshole Kid: Why?
Me: Because you're paid to do it.
LAK: But I worked some today already
Me: You have no idea how good you have, back when I started here they...
And, at that last point, that's when I do the "Back in my day, we had to walk to school, in the snow. Uphill. BOTH WAYS!" nonsense.
Oh and there's one kid at work that listens to punk, but it's the angsty modern nonsense where they have nothing to complain about. I think I actually asked him to turn down that "racket" or put on some good punk like Mike Ness, Mischief Brew, Andrew Jackson Jihad, or The Monks.
Of course the whole thing is ludicrous, I know there is no such thing as "good" or "bad" music. But there is...

"Rap Music from the 80's 90's will never be the same again."
That makes no sense. It's the same every time you listen to it, it hasn't changed.
If you listen to Hip-Hop music like Tupac or Notorious B.I.G from the 90's, there's a huge difference between old school and now what we have. Trust me, Rap/Hip-Hop has change in a big way and not in a good way either.
Tupac and BIG are not "old school". They are the beginnings of the "new school" of rap. They, along with whatever Puff Daddy calls himself, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, DMX, Ludacris, and so many others began the commercialization of hip hop. In short, they took the soul out of hip hop.
"Old School" is Digable Planets, Nas, Slick Rick, Geto Boys, Mobb Deep...shit like that. I'd go further back, but frankly the really old school stuff is a little goofy for me.
But, overall, I do agree: rap these days is garbage, for the most part. I totally get that "swagger" is a major part of rap culture, but they've taken it to a stupid level of superficiality. It sucks. Kanye? GTFO of here, and take Kendrick Lamar with you.
I don't think modern music sucks--in fact, I think the music is as good as it has ever been--but you have to search harder for the good stuff because it's being buried under a mountain of shit. I don't fault anyone for thinking music is no good these days, it takes a lot of work to find something quality.
