I keep hearing people say patriotism is ignorant. I agree that it is stupid to act better than other people or something stupid like that because you come from a certain country, but I see nothing wrong with having one or two flags in your house or something like that.

I think it's good to a certain extent.

Being proud of your country is good, but mindlessly following the leader of your country is not. I guess Patriotism can be described a prescription drugs: Good for you if you use the right dose, but horrible if you do more than that.

I'm English. I've been brought up on satirical comedy that constantly pokes fun of every aspect of my country. I only have the vaguest concept of patriotism, in that I'm sometimes happy if we win the cricket or something (and that's more because it makes my boyfriend happy, which is good =P).

American patriotism scares me =P

Patriotism is ignorance, plain and simple. It is idiotic to be proud of something that you have absolutely no choice over. It's not as if I chose to live in America, thus why should I be proud of it?

Then what should we do? Forgive them and do nothing about Al Qaeda like Clinton did? Heck no!
