Obviously it's terrible if somebody gets excessive and ruins their face ala Michael Jackson, but I don't see anything wrong with changing something that you don't like about your face. One's looks does contribute to overall happiness, so if it makes one happier to have a better looking nose or whatever, who am I to judge? Of course I wouldn't change anything because my face is perfect, but for people with non-perfect faces, I don't see the problem with a little alteration. Like many things, it's okay in moderation.

What say you?

I have no problem with others doing it. Personally I wouldn't have an operation except in the case of a heavy accident or similar event, but I don't see a reason to dislike people for having a cosmetic procedure. Whatever makes people feel good.

I think it's weird to have a doctor put me to sleep and change my face, but I don't care what others do to themselves.

I don't care what other people do with their body. As for me, barring a freak accident, I don't see myself receiving plastic surgery, but I'm certainly not definitively ruling anything out.

It really depends on the circumstances. My step-cousin has gotten a few procedures done on her nose because she broke it as a kid and it never healed correctly, so she's been having problems breathing through her nasal passage. In situations like that, where the person has been injured, then I don't really see anything wrong with it.

Otherwise, I hate plastic surgery. It really does not look good on the majority of people that get it done.

I don't care what other people do. You're the one with lopsided knockers and allergic-reaction face if it screws up on you, not me.

I only agree with it for real medical reasons. Not because some bimbo wants to look like Barbie.

I'm perfectly ok with it for people who need some kind of reconstructive or corrective surgery. For people who only want to change a little thing that bothers them and it makes them feel better about themselves, then that's fine too. I suppose I draw the line at if it is obvious by just looking at you that you've had work done. Don't get me wrong, it's completly up to the individual, but at that point I think it is getting to be an unhealty mentality.

As a side note, implants on a girl are a deal breaker for me and some girls ruin their look with sugery, IMO. For example, Sara Jean Underwood used to be and extremely beautiful and attractive girl. Now I think she looks a bit like a circus clown because of all the work she's had done and I find that very unappealing.

I dont have a problem with it, if it's done tastefully. Some people get way too much done. But there's a lot of plastic surgery that has a functional component to it - cleft palate, lid surgery for drooping lids, etc.

The idea of it doesn't bother me at all. If it can improve someones life and make them feel comfortable with themselves, more power to them. People that abuse it are definitely disgusting though.

It's one thing to have for reconstruction surgery after a bad accident, but for the excuse of low self-esteem doesn't cut it. If someone has low self-esteem, a surgery isn't going to fix it.

Then there are those who end up looking like this. Yuck.

Too much plastic surgery.

It's the person's decision.

Using it to fix yourself up from defects is one thing ("small" body parts isn't included, in my opinion, including boobs, ass, etc.), but using it to try and enhance your appearance ruins it for me.

I think my nose is big. I would like to have it smaller. So, yeah I guess plastic surgery can help us correct our "defects".

as opposed to what people have said in this thread, i do have a problem with others doing plastic surgery

for example if i have a girlfriend and then i found that she was totally different before and now his beauty is fake, i dont mind she looks good cuz i dont like fake stuff

also, something that scares me is that plastic surgery advances to the point (well i think that is possible now but im not sure) that a gay turns himself into a beautiful looking girl and you dont notice ...

It's really only necessary if you have an actual defect or a feature that people mock every day.
