Just go to your local mall and go into a bunch of shops, see any clothes you like or are interested in and purchase said clothes.

Being 14, you shouldn't need anything too expensive. Clothing doesn't matter to girls that age, as long as you match colors, anything waaaaaay too baggy, or just looks like crap.
Pac Sun was a store I used to go to in high school. Inexpensive, but decent clothing.

Whenever I have a lot of money I got to Banana Republic. You only have enough to buy 2 or 3 things though, depending on what you're going to get.

It all depends on your style. You can try Urban Outfitters, Against All Odds, Express, and Hot Topic and find completely worlds. Give us just a little something to work with on your style.

A 14 year old at Express that's skinny? No way anything will fit him. As well that's a more mature store. Honestly, if I were him, I'd probably just buy a few clearance things from Hollister. That'll run you about $12 a shirt so it's not bad at all, and that's in clothes for someone your age.

Footlocker is overpriced. You can get better clothes at other places for better prices.

Go to Lacoste, you could probably get a shirt or jeans...

I like Express personally.

Buy some nice clothes. Like Button ups from Abercrombie and Fitch. You can go designer and get Armani Exchange, or Ralph Laurn. But the thing is that wont get you alot of clothes if you guy designer or Abercrombie. If you want nice teen clothing for cheap for the Aeropostle or Old Navy. Nice Clothes cheap price. Get Polos and Button Ups. Tees are boring.

For 14 year old I reccommend stores like Abercrombie, Hoillister, Aero, or Old Navy. Those are teen clothing stores (Abercrombie is more college though)

Spend it all in the clearance section of Urban Outfitters. There's tons of good stuff in there and it's all super cheap.

Just don't make yourself look like a lil hipster.

The thing about your question is, nobody can answer it for you. A lot of your persona goes into the way you dress, and it'll determine entirely what the passerby will think of you (which isn't all that important, really, but it's nice), and honestly, a jeans and t-shirt combo won't get you anywhere special. Dress with some flair, but don't be a flamboyant jerkoff about it; finding a medium for your style is majorly important. Dress however you feel you would look good, then give it some...zazz.

So to answer your question: Whatever you want. Except Hollister or Abecrombie & Fitch.

Whether you want to admit it or not, Hollister does give good quality for it's price. I mean really, t's are 12-15 bucks a pop, that really isn't bad at all. You just hate it because of all the big fat meanie heads who tease you constantly wear it.

And I can't stress this enough, you're 14, do not, DO NOT go for designer clothes. You'll just look like a huuuge poser. Believe me, I went through that in 9th grade >.>

Get a thin jacket to weear over shirts in the Spring and Autum, a nice thick jacket for winter too, but they should be jackets not coats, these are for wearing when you're walking to/from the movies with friends, it's urban wear and dosn't need to be highly practical. Don't limit yourself to a brand, i find 501 (the jeans shop) does a good range of thin jackets and at good pprices sand various different brands, though i'm not sure if you have them over in the US.

Also you'll grow. I used to wear Animal, Quicksilver ect. Though i've always bought popular brands because store own clothes ddon't have the same quality. I generally wear nice white Ts these days (Ben Sherman, Tommy Hilfiger) they contrast well with a dark jacket and dark jeans (can't stand light jeans). Don't go over the top on everything just pick one item to be a focus ie: plain jeans, plain contrasting trainers but a shirt with a big busy print, the good thing is that this also makes your outfits not that expensive as you only have to splash out on one item.
