i think there is a green coffee bean? i saw it advertised on some sitealphaqup03
Really, sound different, I'm not a coffee drinker so what do I know.
Green coffee beans are usually the fresh ones you buy raw. These are great if you have your own roasting equipment at home. However, I'm fairly sure you don't haha. Kinds that I recommend by roast:
Dark: Sumatra (I like Tully's variety)
Medium: Tanzania (New roast by Starbucks Reserve)
Light: Any morning blend, or a Kona if you have the money.
And remember, the darker the roast, the LESS caffeine there is, but the more caramelization of the internal sugars in the coffee bean. Happy drinkin'.
Coffee comes in beans, not in grounds. If you are getting pre-ground beans, you are DOING IT WRONG.
If it is freeze died, you are DOING IT WRONG.
If it is a poor roast, you are DOING IT WRONG.
Also, long/straight blacks are nasty as hell. Get an expresso machine, you cheap shmuck. Adding milk straight, or just heated milk is DOING IT WRONG.
One last thing: Starbucks? You are doing it so wrong its no longer amusing. Starbucks makes cheap, skanky coffee that only people from New York or other cities that know jack diddly squat about coffee like. Oh, what the hell, I'll say what I really mean: its coffee for the American masses.
America has both the world's best and worse coffee. Many of the best baristas and coffee houses are in the States. But America also is the undisputed champion of bad, overpriced coffee. Your fission was mailed long ago when it came to mass-market coffee.
Correct come over to Europe we have excellent Coffee here that I promise you.Coffee comes in beans, not in grounds. If you are getting pre-ground beans, you are DOING IT WRONG.

I can't believe I concurrently recognize that I've been insulted and completely agree with you at the same time...
However, I try to do the best I can on my budget haha. Which leads to "okay" coffees in my drip maker, with some Hazelnut creamer. Not very fancy, but tastes oh-so-good to me. I've never used an espresso machine, but I can't wait 'till I can afford one haha.

Don't take it personally ;D
Drip makers aren't attrocious, but I still think they make it taste a bit funny. The thing is, its just like with bottled water, alot of the differences in tastes is mental and not actual. If you sit cups of just straight coffee beside each other and ask someone to guess which was from a drip-filter or a proper pressure based expresso machine, not too many people can tell the difference if the beans are the same.
I'm not the biggest coffee fan ever, I enjoy a cup occasionally but its not a substance I get worked up over. Its just, if you're going to do it, you need to do it right. You can't beat a flat white or a mocha with a long black. Thats just nasty.
I like the flavor of dark roast coffee the best, even though it has less caffeine than light roast (the more you roast it, the richer the flavor, but the less caffeine).
For a cheap fix and good flavor, I usually buy Maxwell House French Roast.
P.S. I only use French Presses (La Cafetiere/Bodum) as the coffee doesn't taste like burnt trash after 20 minutes as it does in an electric coffee maker.
RKfrom down under, your theory of drip coffee is new to me. I personally hate drip coffee, maybe because whenever it's made it's watered down and just a bit of milk added.
I personally have the good 'ol espresso stove top. I've had a fancy machine but I find fancy machines a wank and I think frothy capacino milk is silly.
