What kind of handgun should I get?

M1911 Colt .45 pistol.

Even today its trusted more by Special Forces Units than any other handgun available, and its better designed and has a very large amount of stopping power.

Thats why its such a ***** to get a concealed carrying permit. Only certain individuals get those, like my dad. He has one, he was Army for twenty years, he's got every right to carry a gun where he goes, because he can sure as hell use it.

I might, if I feel like it is necessary.

They shouldn't be in my house, they entered, they signed their right to safety away.

Im pro-gun but even I think the self defense stuff is illogical. Sure there are some cases where having a gun might be a good idea. Just last week my friend's dad got robbed as they where walking into their own house. He was already inside and his dad was just getting out of the vehicle, when an armed guy comes and points a gun at him. The hilarious part is, his dad saw that the man had no magazine inserted so he took off his belt hit him a couple times and chased him away Would firing a warning shot in the air have sent that guy running minus the scuffle? No doubt. But it unless he had seen the gun was empty, a gun would not have helped his situation as the gunman's weapon was pointed at my friend's father at all times.

Yeah guns are an extremely fun hobby, but their just impractical unless you've had extensive training with them.

For robbery situations, I'm sure disarming techniques from martial arts would be more useful than starting a fire fight.

With home invasions, a dog is enough to scare most people away.

Wow you have no emagination, you honestly cant think of a scenario where you may need a gun? what if there not after your "tv" or "jewelry" what if there after your son or daughter. And as your trying to run after them with your fists they take you down with one trigger pull.

quite frankly, I think you should have to write an IQ test before you are able to purchase a gun. There are too many people in the US who have guns that shouldnt.

Some criteria that should instantly void your application for a gun licence:

1. You have two first names, for instance, bobby-joe, or billy-ray

2. You have married a sibling, or someone in your immediate family has

3. Youve ever been convicted of ANY crime (dont know whether something like that is already in effect)

4. You think guns are "cool". Guns are NOT cool, they are dangerous peices of machinery that cause nothing but harm to people.

Guns dont kill people, dumbass rednecks and morons carrying guns kill people.

Who says I even have to shoot it? The mere sight may be enough for them to abort. If not, well better than being empty handed.
