We had a 47 Inch Vizio that has been good to us. It's starting to give us some problems. The screen flckers, the sound goes out and there is a loud popping sound. It's very agravating. We want to get a new TV with our Tax Return our spending limit is about 1k. But we live in a higher altitude and I heard LCD is the best for that so any opinions would be great. We do a lot of gaming and watch moves a lot. We own a PS3 and 360. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks. Oh and I would prefer to get 46 inches and bigger.

I'd get the new LED 55" Vizio. It's a sweet set for the money.

I wouldn't waste the money on a LED. LCD technology is just as good and you can buy a larger set for less money.

LED is beautiful...

BUT, seriously save your money and get a LCD then use the remainder of your money on snacks for movies/games you're going to play on that bad boy.

I agree. I didn't see how much he wanted to spend. He can get the new LCD 55" Viz for under$1k.

I'd like to do the same with mine too. I been using my 37in westinghouse LCD for like 5 years now and I'd really like something bigger. The refresh rate on my TV seems low but it is kinda old now I guess and I havent had any real problems just alittle tearing when playing games sometimes.

I'd save that money for when you really, really need it. To this day I want to slap my parents for buying a brand new 55" Widescreen LCD HDTV instead of food.

I'm pretty happy with our LCD tv. My dad has the same model and it's lasted quite awhile.

Holy ****, only one other person aside from myself clicked plasma. Plasma is better than LCD is pretty much every way possible.

Go for a Panasonic G25:

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-VIERA-TC-P50G25-50-Inch-Plasma/dp/B003924UCK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295407404&sr=8-2

This will blow away every LCD/LED in its price range.

Next time you have a question go to the A/V forum here. People in OT have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to this.

I am a Plasma fan myself. I have both, but the big 58" TV is the plasma. The picture is a lot more fluid and the colors are more natural. For me, both games and movies are more enjoyable on Plasma. If they made smaller plasmas, I would buy one for the bedroom!
