Both are huge Pearl Jam fans, they had it playing all the time when I was a kid. My father is mainly a classic rock fan, but listens to nearly anything he considers good. My mum has a wider range in taste such as jazz, blues, big band, people like michael buble and frank sinatra alongside stuff like Jamiroquai, ABBA and various Spanish artists such as Alma Caribena.
Both my parents like rock/metal, old and new. Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, Metallica, Ozzy, Led Zepplin,a lot of 80's bands, as well as new bands like Breaking Benjamins, Nickelback, Godsmack etc.
wet wet wet, Take that, boyzone, Shania Twain, Robbie williams, blue, five, girls aloud, razorlight, mcfly, busted, yeah i know it is very embaressing to have parents that listen to rubbish and they think when i play metallica, guns and roses, weezer etc. they think that is rubbish and go how can you listen to that.
I listen to and steal my kids music. Radiohead, Ween, Portishead, Kate Bush, Flaming Lips to name a couple. But I also like smooth Jazz and Cla*cal, depends on my mood
Santana, John Lee Hooker, Chris Rea, Dire Straits, Fleetwood mac, Roachford, 4Hero, Muki, Air, Zero7, Simply Red, Jamiroquai, Everything but the girl, Talk Talk, Supertramp, Toto, Seal, things like that, pretty okay I think :D
My mom listens to guys like James blunt, maroon 5, and that kind of music.. My dad listens to some older music but also listens to Avril Lavigne and crappy music like that.
My parents listen to The Beatles, The Who, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Moody Blues, Crosby Stills and Nash, and other 60's and 70's classic rock. My dad also listens to Bob Dylan and a few other folk singers, and my mom also listens to The Dixie Chicks :cry:
They like a lot of Classic Rock from the 70's... a lot of bands that stand out at Queen, Journey, Black Sabbath, Boston and T-Rex... that kind of stuff.
My mom listens to Madonna, Prince, Journey, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. My dad listens to Nirvana, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, etc. I've actually discovered tons of bands by raiding their cd collection.
My dad listens to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and other popular 80s bands. He also listens to a bunch of RAP. Just popular stuff (or stuff that was popular when he grew up). He never expanded and never will expand his tastes. My mom listens to a wide variety of stuff like classical and non-rock/rap music.
