things you should get for your first car
used - new cars are nice, but you'll be paying a pretty hefty premium for a new car. Not really worth it if you're in high school.
4-door - unless you only hang out w/ 1 other person 2-door vehicles suck - added on to this you should have a fairly decent back set for more than 1 reason
slow - sure everybody wants a fast car but it's very stupid to get a sports car as your first car considering new drivers suck. You'll most likely try to hotrod no matter what car you have and if you have something slow you're less likely to hurt yourself (or others).
second hand buicks are good, but tend to be pretty pricey (and rare) for a second hand car.
I hate fords so I'm not even going to act like I'm giving them an unbiased opinion
Dodges are good for car care people, but they don't last for $%#@ if they don't get regular maintenance. Buying one from a responsible car person is a good idea (not the old lady that drove it to the store they tend to be the worse for regular maintenance). You can find tons of intrepids but only about 1 out of 10 are actually well taken care of.
Chevy's are hit or miss, some are awesome, and some are as bad as fords.
Honda's are pretty good despite their nerdy ricer image. Personally I've always found Honda's to be ugly, but you can't beat the fact they are pretty reliable, and an ecconomic buy.
an Acura Integra would be my choice, I have one ;)Ngamer05
HEY me too..but i have to sell mine to stay in university...man its a small world when you hear someone on OT has an integra too
anything within your budget. don't worry about the car, as long as you can afford it.
my first car, and the car I'm still driving, is a 97 mercury sable ls. it was pretty good, hardly needed any repairs.
