Norwegian as my native language. And my first language I learned in school was of course English. I still got some minorspelling errors but it's nothing to worry about. I also understand Swedish and Danish since they are so related to Norwegian, so that's a plus._Colossus_
I think it's funny how Danish and Swedish are also related to Dutch, during our holiday in those countries we were able to read a lot of the texts we saw in magazines, signs etc :) It's also remarkable how different Finnish is!

It's the same for us too. Both Norwegians, Sweeds and Danes can understand Dutch as much as they understand us.When I'm on TeamSpeak with my dutch buddies I can always understand what the topic is about. I can't understand every word, but I can keep up most of the time._Colossus_
Dus ik moet op mijn woorden passen ;)
I seriously have my doubts with all the people saying they speak French here (without saying its only really basic French), really serious doubts.....heres a little test, hope the use of words stop you from using a translator:
"Alors, mes chers amis de toutes les horizons, comment qualiferiez-vous votre maîtrise de la poétique langue des Nordiques de racine latine? Est-elle défaillante, médiocre, ou encore, bonne, voire à la hauteur des attentes que je porte à votre égard? Écrivez-moi une phrase complète, au moins, s'il-vous-plaît."
1-French (mother language)
2-English (fluent)
3-German (basics)
4-Spanish (can understand some conversations and readsome texts)
5-Italian (can understand some conversations and readsome texts)
