What means of self-defense do you have at your bedside?

I've got a pair of motorcycle gloves and a flashlight. As if i had enough time to put on the gloves. The strategy is to blind the intruder and incapacitate them. Care to share?

I live in a safe neighbourhood, I Always close the door after me. And the intruder has absoloutely zero chance of entering. But if he somehow gets in, then I guess maybe a Knife.

My phone. Ultimately the best thing to do is to call the cops in case of burglary.

That's a good one. Unfortunately I can't help checking my phone if it's beside my bed, so I keep it in another room.

I mean, anything can happen, and my folks have seen some crime in their area which has historically always been nice, but overall I don't really worry about it.

I live in a decent enough area, it's kind of rural but also close to civilization (cops, fire dept., etc), and I lock the door all the time.

If any house is going to get broken into, it's probably my neighbor with the $250,000 worth of cars parked in the driveway. Not my house with the $4,000 Honda.

Yeah my hope is that if anyone broke in they'd see the plain living room and lame appliances and be like "this guy doesn't have anything" lol.

Yeah but then a.) you might shoot someone you care about or b.) someone you care about might shoot you or c.) the gun might get stolen. All are more likely to occur than you actually using it to defend yourself.

But I get it; if I lived in an actual bad neighborhood, then I might consider it.

My phone is camoflaged on my table so I can't even see it, so I get no temptations. I know how to grab it though via muscle memory.

On a side note, I was the victim of an attempted burglary last year, I shouted really loud and scared them off.

The chances of ever needing a gun in my life are pretty slim. And, in all honesty, I'm the kind of person who should never own a gun.

A .38 special snub nose revolver and a 12 gauge shotgun in my room, not bedside close though and kept separate from ammo but I can be good to go within a minute.

Just me. I don't live in a constant state of fear, afraid of the world around me like a beta, so I have no need for a gun.

I've been intending to purchase pepper spray as a means of self defense against those with a knife. Not sure what to do if they had a gun, but I would rather avoid injuring anyone, regardless of their intent was to hurt me. I believe in heaven and hell, so I couldn't in good conscience do something that may kill someone and thereby cause them to go to hell without knowing if they heard the gospel.
