I was raised listening to good ol Britpop:D I was born and raised in London right when Brit pop was getting huge. I remember having arguments with kids at school about how Blur was better than Oasis. I still believe that:) These are the main bands I grew up on.

1. Blur

2. Echobelly

3. Menswear

4. The La's

5. Belle and Sebastian

6. Elastica

7. Sleeper

8. XTC

9. The Beatles

10. The Who

11. The Kinks

12. Pulp

13. Charlatans uk

14. Yo la tengo

15. Mazzy star

16. The Bluetones

17. Cast

18. The Sundays

19. Kula Shaker

20. The Stone Roses

21. Ocean color scene

22. Ash

23. Queen

24. Hall and Oates

25. The Lightning seeds

However when I moved to Los Angeles I stopped listening to those bands and got into The Backstreet boys, and Brittany Spears for a while:(

A lot of Indian artists, because I grew up in India.

I listened to a lot of music produced by AR Rahman, and a few other Indian artists/producers.

I wasn't really raised on music, besides the occasional Beatles song. All the music I listen to is the music I stumbled upon on my own....

Yay another Britpop fan! We should ride bikes:o For some reason I got into Grunge later. I moved to Los Angeles around 1996 or so and everyone at my new school loved Grunge and nobody liked Britpop:( I only really got into Soundgarden, Alice in chains, and Screaming trees when I was a wee lad. Its only recently that I got back into Grunge. I still think Brit pop is better though.

Hell yeah! I quite like Blood, sugar, sex, magic, and Californiacation. I don't like them much anymore though. Their songs get a bit monotonous after a while especially their more recent albums.

While really young I listened to pop music, having not known about anything else. Before high school I started listening to classic rock, and that ended up leading me into listening to prog rock more than anything else in the last few years.

Actually, I haven't followed their music since Californication, so I was going with their earlier stuff anyway. And yes, BSSM is an awesome album.

Amen. Those were the best times for hip hop. Not this garbage on the radio today like Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, and other trash.

I got cassettes handed down to me from my sister when I was young. I remember specifically Space Oddity by David Bowie, Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt, Blood Sugar Sex Magic by RHCP, Billy Idol, Elton John, Zamfir, and The Cross of Changes by Enigma being some of my favorites. Also listened to alot of the same with my mom. Dad exposed me to Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Cat Stevens, Donovan, and Brazil 66.

Early Beatles due to my father, mainstream rap and hip-hop due to wanting to fit in. Now I listen to stuff most people have never heard of, because I myself find redeeming qualities in the music.

Lifehouse is good. And whatever my parents played around me, and I think it was like classic rock or pop. I did love music from video games and TV before I've gotten into that stuff. I don't like most pop music anymore, though.

Classic Rock and Heavy Metal (eg Ted Nugent, Montrose, Jackson Browne, Rainbow, etc). But, my favorite is still 80's and 90's alternative rock. Eh. I meant alternative rock from the 80's and 90's.

Edit: Currently listening to my The Cult playlist.

I grew up listening to the 80's, I didn't really seek out different tastes till a couple years back
