I typically listen to any genre except for metal these days, but I most heavily lean towards alternative rock, classical and jazz.
[QUOTE="Pirate700"]It's amazing. You're allowed to put up to 5 options in a poll and yet instead the TC decided to mush genres together that aren't even related. And still leave a ton out. Horrible poll.Where is classic rock and country on that poll.

I can get into a lot of music, but i can name genre's i generally do not like.
Country is one, Rap, old R&B, Most forms of Metal music i cannot stand.
That does not mean I can't find a song in those genres that i like, just generally any given song i'm gonna find i don't like it.
Like i don't know the type of metal genre it is, but someone here posted a song that was like a Pirate song, and it sound pretty damn awesome. until the lyrics started getting sung.
I lean towards Alternative, Pop, Electronic (Rave/House), World, and Jazz.

Was it viking metal?
Because I hate that stuff so much :P
Rock, metal, and video game music.ArmoredCore55oh man forgot to mention, yeah i got a large collection of game soundtracks and movie soundtracks. I mean i got God of War, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed 2, Killzone 3, Mass Effect 1 and 2 music. and no i don't mean the songs with lyrics in em' i mean the games score. Some of the scores are very good. Suicide Mission - Mass Effect 2 Venice Rooftops and Ezio's Family - Assassin's Creed 2 Ever We Fight On - Killzone 3 come to mind right away.
let's see according to the Genius Mixes i have in my iTunes, i like Brit-Pop, Indie Rock, Alternative Pop/Rock, Comedy (both stand up and comedic music), Hip-Hop/Rap, Adult Alternative, Classic Rock, Classic Rock (not a mistake, i have two different Classic Rock mixes) and Power Pop.
Now, if you were to ask me without looking at my itunes i'd say, I like alternative rock, Brit-Pop (alot) Indie rock, some classic rock, and some rap/hip hop. i do have pop music, but i'm not sure what makes it Power Pop.
I would say "IDM" as that's what most would call it, but the term is silly and pretentious. Not even mentioning that this "genre" encompasses such a huge range of styles that it basically has no meaning. /rant
I can usually enjoy at least one artist in any given genre, but these days most of my listening time goes to experimental electronic music. A lot of genres that I used to like have suddenly become rather dull after being turned on to many of my now-favorite artists.
There's also a lot of modern cl@ssical that I listen to, which actually goes hand-in-hand with the above (referring to artists like 'Rafael Anton Irisarri.')

Country music by far. It's pretty much all I listen to at home and on the radio.

Does that include Taylor Swift?
Not lately, but yes, I do enjoy her music even if it's labeled as pop now.
I much prefer Brad Paisley, King George, Josh Turner, and Easton Corbin though.
People who say "I don't like electronic music" are making a massive blanket statement. It's pretty much equivalent to saying "I don't like music." Maybe you don't like specific genres of electronic music, but I really don't think it's possible to not like any electronic music whatsoever.
Check out Benn Jordan or Rafael Anton Irisarri, for example, to see what I'm talking about. Both of these artists make heavy use of electronic music equipment, yet I'm sure a lot of people who say that they "don't like electronic music" can appreciate this stuff.

[QUOTE="Pirate700"]He said country.

So I assume you don't like her music. Amirite?
I actually don't mind her music at all. I'm not a fan but I don't mind it. She's not country though. Yeah, I agree it pisses me off when people say she is and Miley, and that Blake Shelton guy.I listen to almost everything, other then Rap (I hate Rap!) and Country (HATE COUNTRY!!!!!). My Favorite bands are Green Day (Favorite band!), Blink 182, Paramore, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Hollywood Undead (they're little rap, but I somehow like them), AC/DC, and lots of cool bands I love.
