I am curious did you play any other games like for example classical board games or casino games or some other games that require only pen and paper? I think that I don't want to spend so much time in front of a screen and need to discover some other offline games. I will very much appreciate your suggestions :)

I play various dice, card games and Rummikub but mostly I play board games like Monopoly, Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan but my favourite is Pandemic...I'm a big fan of cooperative board games instead of competitive. More fun and better mood for everyone afterwards :p

I was big on pen and paper RPG's growing up in the late 80's. Played D&d, Star Wars, TMNT, Ninjas and Superspies, Paranoia, Cyberpunk and Champions. Started playing D&D again about 4 years ago but half of my 4 man group moved to Long Beach in 2016 and we haven't played since. If you can find a good group that meets somewhat regularly it can be a great time. Its a reason to sit with friends for 8 hours at a time and eat, drink and slay.

@heathen75: Eat, Drink, Slay seems like something that should be printed on a T-shirt somewhere :p

@korvus: I just looked and can only find eat, pray and slay. Which doesn't even make sense to me. I want to say I originally read that in a Groo the Wanderer comic.

I play the Call of Cthulhu version of Pandemic. It's pretty fun, but hard as hell. We also play Tsuro, which is a tile-based board game.

It's pretty sweet. The Epidemic cards and Infection Rate are replaced by "Evil Stirs" cards and Old Ones that get gradually summoned over the course of the game. Infections are replaced by "cultists" that you have to defeat to keep them from summoning Old Ones. The last Old One is Cthulhu and if he gets summoned it's all over. Also each player character has a "sane" and "insane" state if they lose too much sanity, and your goal is to close inter-dimensional gates in each town. You also have to deal with Shoggoths from time to time, and beating them places sanity as risk.

Other than that, it's basically just like Pandemic.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations! I will try Call of Cthulhu version of Pandemic - looks really interesting. I borrowed '7 wonders' and during the weekend me and my friends couldn't stop playing it for hours. I was really impressed that a board game will be so much fun. I agree with 'korvus' that cooperative board games are better for the mood, but honestly if you are playing with good friends I doubt it that somebody will stay mad at you for a long time. BTW http://internetbettingsites.org/skill-games/ -- did you know that such offline games are called Skill Games?? like dominoes, chess and others :O

Go to would be cards. Cheap, easy, and portable. Favorite past time of my friends. Also, Cranium, Gestures, and Taboo is pretty fun.
