There is a Six Flags about an hour away from my city. I went several times when I was younger.

Here in eastern Pennsylvania we have the...

Pocono mountains (ok pretty much hills compared to the Rockies), good place for skiing and a getaway with your significant other

Gettysburg, a national park remembrance of the battles here that were the turning point in the American Civil war (July 1863). Fantastic re-enactment videos on Youtube about it!

Valley Forge, where General George Washington harbored the Continental Army over winter to prevent desertion, this too was a turning point in a War, but against the British in our Revolutionary War (1777-1778 )

Philadelphia, first capital of the United States (1790 - 1800 ), home of the best cheesesteaks, cream cheese, Liberty Bell, and the Philadelphia Phillies :)

Oh and Six Flags isn't far from us here as well.

Lol, while I was in the Air Force, they tried to get us to sign up for a 5 year tour of duty in Minot, ND, the joke was always "Why not Minot?"

Nobody wanted to be stationed there. Extreme cold in winter. I heard summer temps sometimes got crazy high too.

Haha, yeah, I've heard that joke before. :P I've actually never been to Minot, but I can imagine what it's like. It's so cold here! Yeah, summer temps can get really high too. This area is just full of extremes in weather.

I live in Arizona, so there are plenty of national parks around these parts. I live less than 15 minutes from the Sagauro National Parkand have visited Madera Canyon many times. The diversity and beauty of this state never ceases to amaze me.:)
