I know, its really early for this question.

I'm in a dorm at college right now.

The reason I'm asking now is because now is the time to start job searching. I heard unemployment is ridiculous for ages approx. 18-23

Options:

1. Work Part Time stay at home and put up with my parents.....i like them.....I hate living with them though

2. Get an Apartment and work full time (might not be an option, because I might be going to Airborne School)

3. Vagabonding/Backpacking

4. Don't make plans.....just go with the flow

So, number 2 is probably out the window.....

Any other suggestions besides what I stated?

If you haven't had an internship in the field you plan to go into, the summer would be the best time to start. If you graduate from college with no actual experience you're pretty much a worthless candidate unless you have connections to people. If you have the option of living from home you could even take an unpaid internship just to get something on your resume.

Yup, internship. Best thing to do. Typically, hire rates for internships don't change too much because they're used to search for candidates for more involved jobs for which the need to fill doesn't fluctuate much. I couldn't find an internship last summer, so I spent the entire time getting my pilot's license. When I applied for an internship this summer, the fact that I had my PPL and that it showed I had a real interest in the field as well as ambition outside school, got me the job... and it's with one of the biggest companies in the world, and I'm being paid more than the average household in the US makes in a year... So basically, get an internship. If you can't, then do something (like volunteer, for example) that well help you get one later.

A cool option would be to go working abroad. You would learn to be independant and provide for yourself.
