I heard on the Hotspot (from this very site) that stores are already clearing out their HD-DVD inventory.
Why anyone would get a Blu-Ray player other than a PS3 right now though is beyond me.
Wait until the holidays till one has proven that it's worth getting. Currently neither has an advantage over the other except HD-DVD is getting the Matrix 1, 2, and 3 and Blu-Ray isn't. dj_pulserfanBlu ray is gettin matrix...just later...which is stupid for WB considering blu ray sales are outselling HD DVD 3:1...and Blu ray has a tremenedous more amount of support then HDDVD and titles....HD DVD only has universal movies exclusives....where is blu ray has way to many to name....i suggest getting a BR player if you have the money...if not pick up a ps3

If you were buying now I would say Blu Ray. I have both, and I tend to favor the transfers on HD DVD movies, but if you can only do one, I would just get a Blu Ray player in the form of a PS3, or wait until the summer because Sony will have a standalone available fo 499. You can also get LG player that does both formats.

Blu ray owns enuff said...if you like HD DVD is probally for some odd you reason you actually like universal studiosblazinpuertorocIt has nothing to do with Universal. HD DVD has better inactive menus, better transfers, and the combo discs that work in HD on standard DVD players are nice as well.
This is only the second month that HD DVD has been outsold since both formats were released, coincidently there were no notable releases on HD DVD with the exception of the departed.Blu-ray Outselling Hd-dvd 70% to 30%

If there actually ends up only being one High Definition Video format, the yes it will most likely be Blu Ray. Until then, I'll keep buying both of them.In the end blu-ray will win, With Sony backing it and lowering prices and more space on 1 disc.
