Because they're f*cking idiots? If people do it for fun, they really need to find a different hobby....

In poverty stricken areas people may do it to provide for their families. That doesn't make it right. Other people who steal just to steal I have never understood.

You get things and you don't have to pay for them.

This is the case in most suburban areas and in most cases overall the driving factor is just greed. Those that steal in order to survive are either doing so because they are in the worst environment with no hope of attaining any job ever, or they're reluctant to actually seek employment.

Not sure if serious... The person stealing the "stuff" didn't have to pay anything for it. Therefore, it's free for him. :|

For stealing where the major reason is not the free stuff, it's usually a case of providing an adrenaline rush for the thief, make them feel alive, so to speak. It's the same principle as illegal street racing or other risky behavior. Doesn't make it any less stupid, though.

You're getting something for free and the rush of commiting a crime whilst getting away with it.

It's the creed of Pirates & Outlaws.

Two words. Free stuff.

It sucks to be robbed though, once I had my PS2 on my backpack and almost got it robbed.

actually i ask what so great about stealing and why people do it for fun. im moniitoring response in a sense to see if are people ignorants about the fact when you do it you are actually hurt someone and seeing if our people only care about there own greed then anything else.

There's really no simple answer to the question, as I think with stealing person-specific factors need to be taken into account.

Some people may not like doing it but do it out of necessity (i.e. to provide for themselves and/or their family), whereas others may do it because they enjoy the thrill of it/enjoy acquiring items they could not afford usually, etc. etc.

Lot of people get that rush when they successfully steal something. Like a drug in their mind, I know because I used to do this when I was a kid growing up in a 3rd world country. Just saying, though I havent steal anything in the past 6 years.

sorry for gamespot censors. its a 7 letter long word 8 if you count the s. i also had stole because of greed at time though those were from family member because they also had stolen from me before. there one factor i keep forgetting is because i never felt it is the rush which some people here had explain here a couple of time here. personally i dont care if people steal for survival or because some1 mistreated them. where i live tend to think about themself more then ever. i live in a small redneck town were people my age who are stuck think there gangster. some of them will break into people house just to steal crap even though they actually have money to buy the crap they are stealing.
