It doesn't matter if this is for creative writing, fanfiction, reports, or things for school, or just something you do in your spare time, what sort of genre(s) and theme(s) do you generally cover?

In my case it's science-fiction, horror or cyberpunk, with elements such ambiguous and inverted morals, violence, multiple perspectives and humanity. I used to do crime and stuff like that, but I'm over that now. :P

Anyway, even if you're not a writer, just apply to it reading. I"m generally the same, except I read fantasy. A lot of fantasy.

I thought this was going to be about something slightly different :P

Anyway, I've always been into fiction a lot more. I particularly enjoy reading horror and fantasy. Though all I've really been reading lately is fanfics.

I prefer writing short narrative and script (film/video)

Genres, I always prefered to read/consume fantasy(no limits). Though I love when Scifi mixes with Fantasy.

Like starwars.... before the ******* medacloreans:evil:

I admit I'm a slow reader, I mean it took a month before I finished reading a book and half a month maybe if it was scifi and manga. :) I got most of my attention on gaming.

I'm currently writing a novel and in the process of getting my degree in Creative Writing with an Emphasis in Fiction. My novel is fantasy based, but I enjoy reading all kinds of genres, including horror, mystery, sci fi, historical, contemporary and classical literatures.

I can't really manage to write a full story or novel

I use to have lots and lots of ideas and i always write them down.

Anyways, when i choose one and start working on it, i'm always thinking on the fact that another one would be better, so i stop trying to write something and go for the other idea, but the same thing happens

I used to write fan fiction. Sci fi, horror, comedy, action (sometimes all four combined) and crossover were the main genres.

I love writing horror in general. In the past, readers have said that my writing style has a vivd, poetical quality. If there isn't an emotional connection, then it isn't scary to me. Repetition is also part of my writing style, and making different sentences have a new meaning. Foreshadowing can be a lot of fun too. I like to throw myself into the process, which is mostly organic, and take the reader on an emotional journey.

Cyberpunk and biopunk are cool genres. I have a soft spot for genetics and A.I in storytelling.

I'm also trying to write an original novel. It's a hardboiled, modern day sci fi thriller.

Most of the books I own/read are non-fiction. I do have a few fiction books, most of which I have yet to read (LOTR, A Song of Ice and Fire series, Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead).

Only read and write science fiction, fantasy, and post apocalyptic. Generally when i do have an idea to write something it deals with humanity, what it means to be a conscious human being. There are a lot of sub-topics within that topic and they can work especially well in science fiction because of the possible technology inthe future.

I like Russian and American classic novels. In the non-fiction category religion, psychology and philosophy make up for my favorite reads, it is broadening to different subjects though. I have about two more years of research before I can start materializing my own project, taking a year off abroad to finish it.

I write articles, essays, and stuff of that sort. Fiction writing isn't exciting to me. I read just about everything but lately I've been on a non-fiction binge.

What kind of reader am I? Well I mostly stick with reading horror, sci fi, fantasy like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and the Game of Throne book series. Even courtroom drama stuff from John Grisham and some older stuff from Anne Rice.

What kind of writer am I? well I've been trying to write my own collections of short stories ranging from silly sci fi outer space stories to horror.

Psychological and political themed fiction in any setting, I'm having a great time reading the song of fire and ice and I recently finished the monster manga. On occasion I read philosophical/political/economic books, I just began reading the theory of moral sentiments.

I read books about Jesus. That is, ancient language grammar books to help me read the source texts about Jesus, biographies about people who lived for the sake of Jesus, and homiletic books which are books about how to best declare the glories of Jesus.
