i was taking a shower and i had my contacts in while i was shampooing my hair. i could feel the contacts in my eyes uncomfortable because there was probably water in them, then i opened them because i couldnt stand the feeling i got shampoo in my right eye. it started stinging so badly, i wanted to take the lens out but i couldnt open my eye, then i took it out and its been stinging for like over 10 minutes, did i scratch my eye or something? shampoo shouldnt take this long to take out, omg what if my right eye is blind tomorrow

Did you rinse out your eye?

It's probably just irritated. Make sure you rinsed it properly and just leave it alone for a bit.

Thats why glasses are always win. Plus, they make you look smart and they are stylish. Maybe, use glasses next time?

Or don't wear your contacts in the shower? I would never do that.

This sounds like the best suggestion.

I sprayed myself in the eye with hairspray and was convinced I'd wake up blind.

It hurt for about 2 hours then the stinging subsided. You should be fine.

Get someone to punch you really hard in your eye. Then you won't even notice it.

That should go away soon....and make sure to leave the lenses out for awhile and soak them in saline in case there is some chemicals from the shampoo in those.

I always wear my contacts in the shower. OP, you got shampoo in your eye and it compounded the problem because your contacts were in. Just take your contacts out and wash your eye out for 10 minutes underneath the sink. You'll be fine, the human eye heals quickly.

First mistake: choose contact over glasses. Second mistake: wearing them in shower.

Solution: rinse the soap out of your eyes.

If not solved: go see doctor.

btw I hate contacts, I hate anything that touch my eyes.

Reading that just made my eyes sting with no reason. It's probably irritated. Wash it reaaaally good, then use a soft towel, then wash it again (don't laugh. I got some1 who is a doctor in these things in my family). Then NEVER wear your contacts while going near water (pool, shower, bath, sea - ouch...imagine wearing them in the salty sea).

I second that. Glasses = sux. TC, like everyone has already said, rinse your eyes (although uncomfortable, it's best).
