I'm not a huge guy and I like my shirts fitting a little tighter, but no matter where I go to buy clothes there's ALWAYS a very limited amount of small sized shirts. No matter what. It's not fair. I get so pissed off because there's always a TON of XL shirts... This may be just me, but the majority of people I know are nowhere even close to needing an XL sized shirt. I'm not saying that bigger people don't need shirts, but 90% of the time stores are overstocked on L's or XL's, even M's and very few or no smalls. I just felt the need to have a small rant... I don't know if anyone else ever noticed this or has this problem. And yes, literally every store I go to has issues with a lack of small sizes. Every single one.

Dude when I used to live in Japan, nothing pissed me off more than to find something I really like, but in XXXL size. Like who heck does this fit?

youre not the only one that uses that shirt size, so other people go before you and buy the size youre looking for, so all thats left are XL, XXL, XXXL, XXXXXL, >9000L, and blankets with the shirt design...

Tight clothes are in style, so your stuff is getting jacked by the XL crowd. Personally I can't wear tight clothes so I normally have an abundance to choose from.

I think that's half of the issue, the other half being that stores under supply themselves with small sized shirts. My best friend works at Aeropostale and I asked him about this and he told me that they just don't get enough smalls.

I wear larges and they fit me fairly tight. I never have the problem of not finding shirts. I'm not overweight either, I'm a big guy.

If that's the case then stores should be supplying themselves with enough smalls so that if anything they're oversupplied on malls rather than XXL's that hardly anyone buys.

The smaller sizes sell faster because there are more people who fit into them. The result is the large, extra large, and such left over.

I'd guess there would be an issue with people saying they discriminate against larger people by not having enough bigger sizes. Honestly I'm the opposite of you, I like my clothes a bit bigger and not skintight. in women's clothes at 'trendy' stores, most of the pants are a 00 or 0, up to a 'fat' 3, and then all the middle sizes (mine) are gone, cause that's the size most girls are. I think it's because of the emo trend that you're having this problem. even fat emos want the smallest size available of everything. I'm surprised their clothes dont just meld with their skin.

It's obvious you don't run a business. Being overstocked costs a lot more money than being understocked, meaning they could care less if you can't find a shirt because they already made the money.

They're obviously not making money on those XL shirts that just sit there, so why not order less of those and load up on smalls that actually sell. It's more likely that there would be less of an overstock on smalls than on XL shirts.

That happens because everyone else snaps up the smalls before you can get to them.

I like my shirts loose fitting, but lately, whenever I go to buy a new shirt, I got to try it on, and it fits tight on me. I actually bought on because it fit comfortably for me, washed it, it probably shrank a size or two. I'm still wearing shirts that I've worn for the last 4 or so years because they are comfortable for me.

Its actually quite the opposite of what you think. You have a very common clothing size making those sized shirts pretty popular. The XXXXXL are very very rare so theres always a bunch left cause no one buys em.

I have the same problem. I'm a small person. My size in pants are a 0 - 1 (in women/juniors, obviously) and I cannot find my size anywhere. Same with smalls in shirts. I'm finding large or xlarge. I can't even find mediums anymore. It took me forever to find a coat (I love my new coat, though!). I can't even find undergarments that are in my size. :(

Actually, in my size for pants, I can't even find on websites or in stores. And it's not because they are sold out. They just don't stock in those sizes.

I appreciate the amount of XLs and XXLs because I'm fairly tall (6'4") with a naturally large build. But what's really ridiculous about clothes nowadays are "pre-ripped" jeans. Sometimes they go for upwards of $50-100 but you can get a $6 pair and rip them with a box cutter.

I swear, its the most ingeniously devious marketing technique since the pet rock.

"I'm not a huge guy and I like my shirts fitting a little tighter, but no matter where I go to buy clothes there's ALWAYS a very limited amount of small sized shirts. No matter what. It's not fair"

Thats all I read..
I'm 5'5 125lbs with a small frame for the most part and I need small shirts.
Problem is alot of shirts from cheaper places, their clothes arent fitted, so the top may fit, but the waist line thingy of the shirt is like 5 times bigger than my damn waist so the shirt is more hanging on me than anything else -_-;

So i'm doomed to buying shirts for 20$+ at places like Hot Topic, which I guess I dont mind that part

Yeah.. I dont get the obession with wearing tighter unless your a chick. Imo, okay thats my opinion dont mean anything. Just order online or go to swap meet,

thats the way to dodge it, best of yet just get fatter therefore you reach the realms of M/L. I think the reason why S always runout is that kids also buy it andfemale who are more likely to buy clothes whereas XL/+ are more likely to be just dudes. I gotta admit I never seen small laying around much.
