Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, & Histrory Channel.JCblueside
If I even bother with TV I would only ever tune into Discovery History; History International; Military Channel, Science Channel; Al Gore's CurrentTV; WGBH World; NatGeo; IFC; AZN; WGBH Create, and that's about it. Nothing else is worth watching, and sometimes, not even these.
I am absolutely sick of viewing programming about Nostradamus, UFO's, Bigfoot, the Freemasons etc. They are ALL crossover conspiracy nonsense designed to bring in a larger viewing audience, but anyone who is worth their salt and are slightly intelligent does not want to view garbage like that.
In order of preference
1) History Channel (However, this recent splurge of non-history related shows like Axe-Men, Tougher in Alaska, Monster Quest, UFO Hunters, etc. etc. is really getting old. Bring back my WWII, Goddammit)
2) Discovery Channel (I'd prefer if they had not moved all of their nature material and made a whole other channel for it, but Mythbusters is just so incredible that I can forgive that)
3) Adult Swim (Cartoon Network sucks now, and everyone knows it. However, awesome shows like Futurama, Venture Bros., Family Guy, etc. have a home on AS at least)
1) The Score. It's a Canadian sports channel, but it tends to focus more on opinion, humour and coverage for the "hardcore" fan than the ESPN/TSN "newscast" s.tyle. If you live in the US and have Sirius you can check out Hardcore Sports Radio (which is owned and operated by The Score) to get an idea of what I mean.
2) Showcase. IIRC it's the Canadian version of Showtime. Not only does it tend to pick up a bunch of HBO series (for example, Weeds) but it has some of the best original programming as well, namely Trailer Park Boys.
3) The Discovery Channel. Hard to go against it, especially with their downright sexy HD channel.
