1994 was a good year for movies.

Forrest Gump won the award for best picture. i personally think Shawshank should have won. But you cant argue, its a toss up between these 3 top dogs. which was your favorite?

I love Forrest Gump. I could watch that movie over and over for years. As a matter of fact I have. I could do the same with a lot of Tom Hanks movies.

They are all equal IMO... for different reasons.

There are also a lot of other great movies from 1994 - Lion King (a rip off btw), True Lies, The Mask, Ace Ventura, Clear and Present Danger...

It's a battle between 1999 and 1994 for the best year in movies. Maybe 77 too.

I personally think Forrest Gump, over Shawshank Redemption. Pulp Fiction...I'm gonna cop some **** for this but I didn't actually enjoy it.

Pulp Fiction, easily. It's one of the best films ever made, and one of the best screenplays ever written.

I hope no one is offended by what I am going to say, but most people simply don't get this movie. Everyone still loves it anyway, but most people think its just fun nonsense dialogue and pop culture references, but its so much more than that. The perfect example is the hamburger conversation. It means so much in the context of the whole movie. It's not just funny small talk dialogue as most people think.

Ed Wood and Natural Born Killers were right up there for me, but I think the Academy got it right with Forrest Gump, it was a great movie and widely accessible.

Tarantino has a knack for amazing dialogue sequences. On topic, I'll go with Pulp Fiction as well. Shawshank was awesome too. Forrest Gump was okay. :P
