For me it was definitaly German, I absolutely hate that language! (No offense to any germans here)
In the Netherlands you need to take 2/3 years of German, so that sucked for me.
So what subject did/do you hate the most?

Math. I hate math. You really don't need any math beyond what you learn in middle school, but they still make you learn more of it.

Like...? I have no idea why I would need calculus in my life (and no, I'm not gonna become a math teacher or an accountant or an engineer).

If you are going to work in construction then you had better be good the fractions and additon. If you want to be a professional pool player or better than average math is necessary for calculating bank shots. If want to win the world series of poker then statistics and percentages had better be your game. Office workers are constantly analyzing data and creating spread sheets with formulas. Or if you just plain want to survive you had better understand at least basic math for your change when purchasing, understanding interest rates for credit cards or home, and balancing your check book. What is match used for....everything.[QUOTE="EnoshimaJunko"][QUOTE="deeliman"] There are a lot of real life applications for math.deeliman

Because most people still don't know what they want to be when they grow up in high school. Plus things like knowing how to calculate percentages etc. can come in handy for a lot of professions. If you are going to work in construction then you had better be good the fractions and additon. don't you just need Algebra and trig to graduate high school? Â that's not really advanced math. Â

I had in several occasions needed to solve polynomials of different degrees that represented real life situations I encountered. Matrices do come in handy at times. Geometry, volumes, areas...etc are things you can frequently need when solving some everyday issues. Subjects like statistics, probability, regression, scatter...etc can be used to the benefit of your personal life like when using excel for various reasons ,for example when dealing with personal finance or to keep track of the progress of certain personal projects you're working on among others. Not to mention that adequate knowledge of math can greatly help you understand and keep up with other sciences you may need in your professional life or be interested in like physics, IT..etc. This is all just the tip of the iceberg. There are a lot of real life applications for math.[QUOTE="deeliman"][QUOTE="EnoshimaJunko"]

If you don't want to take calculus, you don't have to. At my high school you only needed three years of math and I think it only went up to trig or something.[QUOTE="EnoshimaJunko"]

I think calculus has an undeserved bad reputation. I'm not really that big into math, but I quite enjoyed calculus and found it to be quite moderate in difficulty.Isn't organic chemistry basically a bunch of memorization? I only took chem 102 but we did a little intro to it basically and the teacher said that you'd have to know like 100+ compounds.[QUOTE="lostrib"]
OChem, stats, and I didn't find eco/evo that interesting
cain006
Partly, it's a lot of memorization of rules/processes/common reactants as well as learning mechanisms of action. Â But you need to know why certain things happen and why something is a better reactant/living group/electrophile/etc than something else

Well that's a different story. In college they make you take calculus if it's not helpful for your major to weed out bad students.I think calculus has an undeserved bad reputation. I'm not really that big into math, but I quite enjoyed calculus and found it to be quite moderate in difficulty.GazaAliOh I agree. Looking back, even multivariable calculus wasn't hard - just a pain in the ass.
Never liked chemistry. It always confused the hell out of me. I used to hate ancient greek, because they were impossibly hard.It was a very important lesson though.
On the other hand,I loved maths, physics and geography, and towards the last years of school I developed a liking for History.
Geography, what an awful subject, so much so, I just used to make fun of the teacher, oh what a youthful degenerate I used to be.
Geography and history.GazaAliI actually liked History, Geography kinda sucked though (or maybe I just sucked at it) I wasn't fond of Maths, it bored me (I remember almost falling a asleep a few times, it was that bad)

Well that's a different story. In college they make you take calculus if it's not helpful for your major to weed out bad students. My school didn't make me take any math courses. I'm a Journalism major.I'm not so sure anymore, favorite subjects were History, English Literature, and Science.
I was going to say math, but now I'm not so sure I actually hate it. Although I never did like anything that involves giving speeches and writing essays. About the two things I didn't really like doing. or anything that involved forming my own opinion because I never could or just didn't care about the subject
