Trapped in a room with a gun, a single bullet and no way of escaping with a horde of zombies busting down the door getting ready to eat me alive. I'd kill myself then.

When times are going very rough I kind of ponder what it would be like if I killed myself, but I know I would never actually go through with it. It just seems too extreme and I wouldn't know how to carry it out..

A straight up crappy two weeks with no sign of a hopeful future would drive me over the edge. I may be pre-suicidal, so I should probably get help, but...I dunno. I've got a strong will, most of the time, I think, and the closest I've gotten to two weeks was 3 days, so I should be good.
I guess if I had everything in life that I could possibly want and am completely content with life, and then suddenly have it all taken away (death of all my loved ones and friends, lose job, lose home, etc.) then I'd have good reason to take my own life. Nothing worse than having it all and then losing it.

Even at this point I would still make an attempt at survival. I don't think anyone can know what it would take to make you kill yourself until it actually comes to it.
A situation where death is absolutely assured and suicide will prevent me from suffering a worse fate, I.E. about to be captured by Taliban. If I thought my capture would only end in torture and death, I'd fight to the end. Hopefully, I'll never face such a situation. :P
Probably if I was dying and in an extreme amount of pain. I can only imagine how much pain a person is in just days before they die from certain illnesses.
