Shoot him, stab him and set him on fire. Call the police and when they arrive I'd give a statement that I feared for my life and it was in self-defense.

Same thing I tell everyone, set the alarm on my phone for 20 seconds and hide in my wardrobe with my cricket bat, when he comes in searching for the phone I whack the crap out of him:P

If you tell him to leave and he does and you still shoot him, that's murder in the second degree. That's why my method is much safer, you just shoot first and ask questions later. You just blow him away without saying anything and give a statement to the cops saying it was dark, you thought he was armed, you feared for your life and your family, case closed. The cops won't care about some crack addict robber who just wanted to steal so he could score with some drugs.

So someone with a college education and a major in english certainly could have taken your words differently than what you intended, especially if you didn't properly convey them correctly.

Awwww. Everyone in this thread would just shoot them in the face and I'd be helpless. Owning guns in the UK is illegal, plus shooting the robber would still be classed as murder (or manslaughter or something... Either way, it's an offense to kill him). Basically I'd have to "detain him" without actually hurting him a whole lot. Yayyyy.
