That was actually covered in the video posted in the OP. Basically, in order to successfully sue someone for slander, you need to show that the person actually knew what they said was a lie, and it's difficult to prove that someone who is clearly unhinged and who's been saying outrageous bull**** for his entire career actually knows that what he's saying isn't true.
In other words, it's not illegal to spread harmful lies about someone else, so long as you do it on a regular basis. Ah litigation, the lifeblood of our nation.
Pretty much, yeah; as long as you come across as insane enough that you might actually believe what you're saying, you probably can't get sued for slander. :P
