You're driving through the city late at night and stop at a red light. Suddenly, two masked individuals approach the driver's window, with guns drawn! They demand that you exit your vehicle and surrender it to them. Fearfully, you comply, but as you exit the vehicle, one of them pistol-whips you on the head, knocking you out cold. A few hours later, you awake in a hospital bed to the revelation of what occurred. As you rest in the hospital bed, an injured woman is escorted into the room; she's been treated for the same injury as you and is to stay in the hospital for a few days.
Over the course of those days, you guys hit it off and decide to start dating. Eventually, after a year, you decide to get married. Five years later, while cleaning the dinner table after having sent the kids to bed, your wife reveals a secret to you: she was one of the people who carjacked you. After a few disagreements, her male accomplice pistol-whipped her as well and kicked her out of the car. She coincidentally wound up in the same hospital room with you, and unintentionally hit it off with you. She reveals that the guilt has been bothering her for years and she's avoided revealing the truth until that point because she did not want to lose you.
What would you do?
EDIT:Â
Consider this alternate scenario as well. Instead of complying, when you exit the vehicle, you charge at the carjackers and one of them shoots you in the knee, disabling your ability to walk. Your wife reveals that she's the one who shot you.
