You guys are so bad***. I wish I could be mature enough to ignore a series because its main readers are children.[QUOTE="wrfade82"][QUOTE="Dark__Link"]I don't really follow childrens' series...RosetaStoned

You guys are so bad***. I wish I could be mature enough to ignore a series because its main readers are children.Well, it doesn't really count as an assumption when you're the one that said you don't follow children's books. If you'd said "I don't follow Harry Potter because they don't hold my interest," it would be different.
On topic, I think mine would be a unicorn. Although I have to say, the idea of a Chuck Norris Patronus is pretty kickass.

I am. The only part where I wasn't was my original response because the way he said it seemed to suggest he didn't read it b/c its a children's series. I understand where he's coming from about not holding the interest though....I don't really follow childrens' series...Dark__LinkYou should have put up a flame shield...
You should have known well enough that that comment would lead to flames...

I'm sorry I never cared for Harry Potter. Are you talking about a familiar ( an animal, as a cat, that embodies a supernatural spirit and aids a witch in performing magic.) or something.
Try reading some Tolken books they are much better if you have the patience for them
Those books taught me patience because LotR doesn't get interesting till the end of the first book. You really have to be willing to wait that long because once you get past the first book you won't be able to put the second and third down.
Same thing for the Hobbit doesn't get good till the 5th or 6th chapter.
Now back to mah question: Is what you are asking about the same thing as a familiar?
No... There are these creatures in HP that resemble grim reapers, but they suck the happiness outta their surroundings and a patronus is the only thing that can scare them off, not kill them either. Each person has a certain patronus they can conjure, but they much use every happy and pleasent thought they have to cast the spell... Harry's happen to be a stag, which made him think of his father. Other people had other animals, don't remember if they could be anything BUT animals.... Or mine would be my 360 right now. ^_^ or Cute anime girls! Those books taught me patience because LotR doesn't get interesting till the end of the first book.
