For me, I'll say Motley Crue and U2.

I'm not kidding, many students at my high school didn't like them.U2?
You have GOT to be joking.
Bono, I can understand not liking but the music is awesome.
MrsSolidSnake
I'd replace that with emo music, although emo music is not classic. :PAll hair metal.

Before you judge "emo"(I do hate that term), try Rites of Spring, Circle Takes the Square and anything from Thursday before their most recent albums. Thats the good stuff.

I'd replace that with emo music, although emo music is not classic. :P Nobody at my high school knows who they are, except two of us and I love their music. Bono is a wanker, I admit that. And THAT is coming from a true Bon Jovi fan. (Me :P)All hair metal.

I agree... I think. The question is, have you heard it?

[QUOTE="ArmoredCore55"]I was debating asking why you disliked Motley Crue, but then I figured yeah I can see why some wouldnt like them due to Vince's voice. I am not one of those people though. I think their self titled album was their best to be honest, which is the one without Vince NeilFor me, I'll say Motley Crue and U2.

That being said I'm fine with emo music, but I do not like hardcore punk.
"Emo" is short for "emotional hardcore", and originated from hardcore punk; good sir. Metal can not be emo.
Emotional and emotional hardcore punk are two different things though. Xasthur is emotional, though he plays black metal and is thus emotional black metal, however the testosterone filled metal community replaced that with depressive black metal, even though it's actually emo (and I LIKE Xasthur btw.)That being said I'm fine with emo music, but I do not like hardcore punk.

Emo is not just an emotional twist on another genre; it is a unique styIe of its own. Of course many people who don't like hardcore won't like emo; very few people enjoy poutine but not french fries. Poutine is a food that rooted from french fries, but is still unique.
Drone music developed from doom metal, but there are many people (both metal and non metal) who don't consider drone music metal at all. And who's to say the emotional concept can't be adapted from hardcore to metal?
And if you will only settle with emo being a sub of hardcore, then I'm sure anyone who dislikes hardcore would respectfully dislike hardcore with a different emotional concept.Nintendevil

Holy God way to make me feel old youre not old. Anyway, both of those bands are amazing. I guess armored core doesnt listen to lyrics, or music... lol@gamerlifegrace - I just find U2 to be boring, and I find Motley Crue to have bad lyrics in some of their songs.ArmoredCore5580's U2 was not boring....hair or glam metal was not worth listening to in entirety though.
[QUOTE="ArmoredCore55"]I don't think either of those are considered classic rock...but, whatever. Anyway, while I love classic rock, I can't stand Van Halen. Eddie is a great guitarist, just can't get into the songs anymore.Well, Motley Crue was formed in 1981 and U2 was formed in 1976.For me, I'll say Motley Crue and U2.

I've just never really heard of them considered classic rock artists. Though, I'm really not sure what constitutes a CR band in the first place. For me, I'll say Motley Crue and U2.
