Go play Starfox 64 for the N64 if you can.

And if you're to lazy, "do a barrel roll" is an executable action a character named Peppy tells you to do in the game (you are in a space craft). The ability is practicaly overpowered, because you can deflect almost anything by "doing a barrel roll". Thus, forumites have turned it into an internet meme because its a running joke that doing a barrel roll will get you out of any tough situation, just like in the game.
